Good question @grizz:, I will be following.
@babynumber1: What type of online photobook do you use? I'm much more likely to keep up with something I can update online or on the computer, but I'd love to have the option to get it in hardcopy after 6 months or a year.

I have a personal blog just for me and my DH. It's like my online diary.

I use a baby book, and I have photo albums. But I record everything in her baby book so she can look through it in the future.

We have a baby book but I was really bad about keeping it up to date. I thought I would remember things and could fill them in later I have all his discharge papers from every doctors appointment since birth, so I can semi-fill it in with that information at least but I really regret not doing it right. (I also never did his hand prints because the hospital said wait until 6 months. I lived in fear that he would have a reaction to the ink so I never did them and really regret it! I think I will just do them when he turns 2 this month and note in the book. We have his foot prints from birth at least).
I took weekly pictures of him every Sunday (day of week he was born) during the first year that I intend on making into a photo book.
We got semi-pro (re: cheap mall photos where you only get one pose for $10-15. I alternated between two places) every month for the first year. We also had pro pics taken at birth, 4 mo, 7 mo and 1 yr that we have framed a sequence of his first year (same set in each pic so it's a progression of his growth) and we got an amazing book made of pictures from these sessions (these sessions were a shower gift from my mom and a special package our photog does that also included maternity pics). Now, during his second year, we get pics every 6 months.

@Revel: I have just been using Shutterfly. I have it seperated by month, it starts with her month picture, then the next page is what we did that month, stats and fun things, then the next couple of pages are pictures that I took that month. I am so excited to print it in a couple of months.

@babynumber1: That's what I really want to do - but she's 11 weeks and I haven't started yet! I'm going to start forgetting if I don't get on it! You've re-inspired me

@babynumber1: Thanks! I really love this idea and it seems like a manageable commitment. I bet it will be so nice to see your book in print at one year!

Baby book and monthly blog updates (I write LO a letter each month with all of his milestones and activities, and then publish it on our family blog for our friends and family to read. I plan to turn my letters to him into a book for him some day).
