Starting in January, DD is going to be starting daycare. They take her outside twice a day to play for 20-30 minutes each time.

The play area has a slight canopy so that it won't get soaking wet since it rains all winter, but it will still be cold. Temperatures usually are around 40F (~4 Celsius) and it doesn't typically snow here... just endless amounts of rain.

I normally dress DD up in knit leggings but I would think she's going to be cold if she's outdoors. Do your daycare teachers help your LOs into snowsuits? That seems excessive though since there won't even be snow on the ground and its above freezing.

What pants do you send your kids to daycare in? Do you double up on leggings? The coat I got for her is waist length. Should I get her a longer coat instead? http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?vid=1&pid=598208002
