And how old are you?
I think I feel the way I do because I'm an old fart. 
I understand why they were created for Twitter and Instagram but I don't understand why they are used in other places where they don't do anything.

I'm pretty indifferent to them. I very occasionally use them on Instagram. I dislike when people use 20 hashtags on their posts though. I am 27.

I'm over thirty and annoyed by them. Especially outside of social media, they're annoying enough on social media but when people use them in emails or other places where they don't link to anything I think it's just stupid.

Under 30, and I can see their purpose, especially as social media starts to evolve. Like, on Instagram if I'm traveling, or at some event and use a hashtag (ie #BelmontPark), it's fun to click on the hashtag and see all the other pictures people have posted at that location/for that event. I've been to weddings where they had people all use the same hashtag on IG/FB, so you could see everyone's pictures without having to be friends with them.
I don't personally use them often, and I think they are generally overused and mostly silly, but I can appreciate their intended function

@oliviaoblivia: Yeah, it's almost like they're becoming a new version of slang or something. Slang isn't the right word... I don't know, but it's almost like a new language/way of communication to the younger generation.

Honestly, I understand that they sometimes serve a purpose when used correctly (i.e. using them to link a bunch of pictures or "tweets" together for a common goal). However, when someone posts a selfie with #blue #eyes #pretty #girl #prettygirl #smile #selfie #single #marryme #desperate ....... TOO. FAR.

I'm 29 and I like them (don't LOOOVE them), but mostly only for comic purposes. Like I don't hashtag things for the purpose of them being searchable/trending. But I'll sometimes use them to (try to?) be funny. Like I'll write something like: Spilled coffee all over myself right before a client meeting. #WinningAtBusiness

I'm 30 and I'm indifferent. Some people are hilarious when they use it and some over use it. I only use it on Instagram of it will make my photo funnier.
I actually reduced my hash tag usage because I thought that it would make my photos public. It's false but I still don't hash tag as much.

I am ok with them (way over 30) but I hate it when people break out every single word into a separate hashtag.. I don't see how that adds any value??? Guess I'm just an old fart.

I guess I like them in general but I wouldn't say I have strong feelings for them. On twitter, ig, and others I think they are entertaining and useful for searching but many times overused. On FB I think they are pointless and very rarely used well.

Over 30. I use them and I like them. I use them in two ways: either as part of some sort of event, special hashtag OR I make up really long obnoxious ones because I think it's funny. My co-worker and I also use the hashtag gesture that Jimmy Fallon created. It drives my boss crazy, haha.
