I'm heading out of my twenties and I just don't understand the point of them. And when did the pound sign become a hashtag anyway?!

I'm in my mid 20s and I find them annoying...people just use them as an excuse to keep talking about themselves!

Over 30. I don't use Instagram or Twitter so I don't get hash tags.

Under 30. I don't mind them but #tagsforlikes is obnoxious.

I'm 25 and I don't mind them. Especially some of the ironic/tongue in cheek ones that you know no one else will ever use.
But if there are more than 3 hashtags per post...you just need to stop. -

haha. I created and use one every once in a while to keep track of our home progress pics, but that's it!

I hated them for a really, really long time. I think my BFF ruined it for me. She hashtags EVERYTHING. including texts and it drives me batty.
But I have found some of that pretty funny, like on IG. I usually use one hashtag per photo I post on IG. So I guess I don't *hate* them specifically as much anymore as I hate the misuse of them.
I'm (barely) under 25.
