The threads about what to do when someone breastfeeds in front of you got me thinking about this. I am very open about breastfeeding and I am currently studying to be an IBCLC. I "like" a lot of different pages centered around bf'ing on fb as well. I have no reaction to pics of people breastfeeding, but I know others in my friends group do. How do you feel?

It doesn't bother me to see them. I'm going to make sure I have pictures of me breastfeeding. I think they can be sweet. Some can be over the top too.

They don't bother me at all, I follow The Leaky Boob and the like on FB so I see lots of nursing mama's all the time. I'd be hesitant to post a picture of myself nursing on FB only because I don't want my nipple on the internet, even if it's doing what it was designed to do. I don't want close minded people to judge me based on that in the future (like for a potential job).

@prettylizy: In the majority of cases of the pics on the leaky boob, I have never seen a nipple. Babies heads hide nipples nicely lol.

It doesn't bother me at all...I would probably consider posting one of my own to a closed group about breastfeeding but not to my public facebook page.

Seeing them on baby websites doesn't phase me in the least. If I saw it on FB, I'd be a little surprised (I guess it would depend who it is though). It wouldn't bother me, but I would think about how probably a lot of that person's friends would be bothered by it.
I would not post my own to facebook. I'd be happy to have some pictures like that, but I think I would be selective about who got to see them (not, like, boudoir selective, but I'd only want people I cared about and knew would want to see them, to see them.) -
I'm happy when I see them. I think it's helping normalize breastfeeding, and it's a beautiful thing, so why not?

I LOVE seeing breastfeeding pictures... they are sooo beautiful!!
But I would never post my own online. I hate controversy and debates and I also am fairly modest.

Since I'm breastfeeding my toddler all the damn time, I'm shocked that there aren't more pictures of me breastfeeding on facebook. People are probably too polite to post them without asking. I've long since given up caring. I need to get some formal, posed pictures of it. So beautiful!

@Coco Bee: I love that shoot! I love to see moms nurse. It makes me happy to see moms who aren't afraid to nurse in public. It is natural and beautiful. I struggled with feeling uncomfortable and worrying what others were thinking early on, even though I did nurse DS a lot while we were out and about.

I wouldn't post one of myself. I think they are totally fine on a site dedicated to breastfeeding. But I don't see a reason to post them to your regular page. I don't post pictures of myself eating... Why post pics of my baby eating.

@Arden: It's strange how america views breastfeeding. I think if more woman stopped covering themselves and put pics online, there would be no need for half the breastfeeding threads on hello bee. So many have to deal with comfort in public.

I love the pictures I have of myself BF but probably wouldn't post them somewhere like FB. I feel it's our special time and not something I really want to share. That said, I don't mind when other people post them.

I recently tweeted a pic of myself bfing my newborn in her Halloween costume (giraffe). There was no visible boobage. I still was kind of nervous but i figured what the heck. It went along with a comment my husband made about how it didn't look weird to him because giraffes are mammals too.

My aunt tagged me in a picture of a woman in a wonder woman costume breastfeeding, presumably because she knows I bf. Some people commented on it (her friends) saying how gross it was and how it should not be for people to see. I was a little surprised.
I wouldn't put a picture of me up, but I have no problem seeing them. My sister and Mom have taken pictures of me feeding her for "just us". I think it will be nice to have pictures to remember this time by!

I have a FB friend that has posted a few pictures of herself breastfeeding and I was a little surprised. I am not offended by woman breast feeding in public, however we were eating out a few nights ago and a woman had the whole boob & belly out. It was a BIG boob. A little modesty is appreciated especially when I'm trying to eat

I don't know if I'd post a picture of me specifically breastfeeding, but if I happened to be feeding in a nice picture then I'd be ok with posting it (if that makes sense)
