My LO will point at hair clips as if she wants them in her hair, so I put them in and then she immediately rips them out. How do you keep clips/bows in your LO's hair? Or is it just futile to try now?

It was hard at that age and she pulled them out right away. Now she likes bows because her baby sister wears them....

It's futile!! I even got some with sticky clips and she just cries over those because she can't pull them out. Ugh.

we show her in the mirror and say pretty and when she goes for it we say NO and she will whine and then leave it alone. My sister taught me that trick LOL

I have to distract her first and keep her attention off of me putting the clip in. lol

I try to say no, but now at 14 months she pulls them out, we have better luck with ponytails.

We stopped trying until she got to an age where she actually wanted to wear them ..

We use rubberbands to secure her hair first and then the bow goes between her hairline and the rubberband so it's not as easy to slide out.
She needs to have her hair pulled back in some fashion as it is to her chin the front and about half down her back. I'm not ready to let her brave the scissors.

My daughter would never, in a million years, permit me to put clips in her hair. She'd just rip them out.

She's so far been very tolerant of accessories. Hair bows, hats, sunglasses, you name it she keeps it on. I'm counting my blessings until she changes her mind.

Until just recently, she never seemed to notice them. She's been wearing them since she was really little. Now, they can't hold her hair out of her eyes that well, so if they slide down and she sees them, she'll pull them out. I do the same as @MamaG: most days. Ponytail and wedge a clip in between.
And I try to give her something else to distract her when I'm doing her hair and put it in from above or behind her (so she doesn't see the clip).

DD1 hates anything in her hair...She wont even let me brush her hair! She often goes to daycare with bedhead.

Same as @Rubies: I was only able to put clips on when she was an infant and had no hair. Now that she has hair, she won't let me touch it.

My LO was born with tons of hair so she's used to having a bow in her hair. So my only advice to moms is to start early so it isn't novel
Maybe if you put a bow in your hair and show her it's supposed to stay there? My LO started leaving her sunglasses on when she saw that other people just leave them on their face

Same as @loveisstrange. So long as she's distracted for a moment when you put them in, she forgets about them. Still pulls them out but she can go several hours before she tries.

@sandy: she pulls them out of my hair too! Sometimes it kind of hurts because she grabs a fist full of hair
I guess I will keep trying and maybe one day it will stick. Or she will decide she likes it! My friend's LO asks for it now that she's a little older.
