M needs to move into 18-24 month and 24 or 2T month pants. Her 18 month and 12-18mo pants have become high waters.
Problem - they fall right off of her! Some of the pants don't have that fancy elastic in them that tightens them for you. How do I keep them from falling off of her tushie?

I had to sew in another piece of elastic in the Old Navy brand pants we have, but the Gymboree brand in the same size fit just fine, go figure.

I had this problem with DS at that age. I found pants at Kohl's with adjustable waist bands. He also wore a belt a lot of days.

I know some of Old Navy's pants have the elastic but otherwise, I have no idea!
It's even worse when they wear undies instead of diapers. B needs suspenders at 4 years old. I had to take in a few of his pants. Also, in the future some brands carry slim fits which works best for my string bean haha.

We have the same issue of a tiny waist. I was trying to buy 2T to just skip 18-24 month and it just wasn't working. I tried folding over the waistband but it looked uncomfortable. So I bought a few 18-24 month pants and the one that fit the best (from ON), I bought them in every color.

Cloth diapers help but LO's pants fall off when she wears disposables so I just put her in high water pants.

My problem is (such a problem, I know...) most of her pants are hand-me-downs so I have to work with what I've got.

@looch: We have the same thing for pants with belt loops, I tend to avoid those without belt loops if possible.

@mediagirl: Our baby sitter taught us a trick for belt loop pants. A tiny cat collar from the dollar store, feed it through a few loops then tighten it and clip it, keeps her pants up! Best $1 ever!

@mediagirl: We do a lot of leggings to prevent this. Jeans just do not fit her well.

We pretty much stick to leggings, although she's moving into some 3T pants and even the leggings in that size are big around the waist. I'm going to have to break out the sewing machine and start altering.

Same problem here, so my daughter wears exclusively leggings. She's filled out in the butt a little bit lately, but it can be really hard to find her pants that aren't too short when they fit in the waist.

We have a dapper snapper ( works with non belt loop if you have the grabbers). I roll waists over sometime. Other times he just pulls them up all the time. When I find pants with elastic waists (for potty training) and the waist adjusters I buy a bunch.

we use belts if it has loop holes but even that is hard sometimes bc he is super skinny.
