Just ordered vitamins for my 3 year old. Entertaining the idea of probiotics - does that even help colds? What about my 9 month old? They've been sick most of the past 2 months - cold after cold after cold. It's ridiculous!!
They don't go to daycare or preschool, either. So idk whaaaat is going on.

We've tried elderberry syrup every morning, and washing hands as soon as DS gets home from day care. And also garlic, honey, and saline nose drops at the first sign of a cold. But mostly you just have to wait for the kids to build up their immunity

We take preventative measures like washing hands whenever we come home and before eating, probiotics, not taking kids to play dates where the other kid is sick. But I feel like I'm mostly fighting a losing battle. I have just accepted that my kids will be sick from October through May every year.

I bought essential oil diffusers and have been diffusing thieves oil in the kids rooms at night. Who know if it works, but it makes me feel like I am doing something! When they are healthy, I diffuse lavender or peppermint too.

My daughter is in daycare and when I picked her up yesterday every kid was coughing! I spray her hands with honest sanitizer when we get in the car after pick-up, wash hands the second we get home and before she eats and she gets a bath every night. We don't always use soap, but I feel like it at least gets the germs off from the day. She did get her flu shot last week too. I'm curious if a probiotic does anything for colds? When can kids start taking vitamins?

Obsessive hand washing! No joke. My doc said it is as important as vaccines, and the one time I didn't last year she got a stomach virus that landed us all in the hospital, so that reassured my hand washing extremes.
