I used to pronounce it brit-tax, but I think it's really breye-tax! And kee-ko.

I read something with the correct pronunciations of a bunch of baby brands when I was pregnant. Still felt like a douche saying it the "right" way.

I only knew them after watching some product demos from their site!

I used to think it was britax with a short 'i' but I watched a video and heard the correct pronunciation. I knew chicco was a hard 'c' because I recognized the name as Italian.

c + e, i/io = ch

I didn't know Britax was derived from British Accessories, but now that you've said it, I don't know how I missed it. FWIW, my English friends say Brit-ax

Definitely was saying Britax wrong before this thread and even though I know the right way to say Chicco, I still go back to saying it the wrong way lol.

Br-eye-tax and Kee-ko.

@PinkElephant: I lived in England, and they Brits I knew pronounced it "Br-eye-tax". They're the ones who told me I was saying it wrong! ha. Proof that they dont know how to pronounce it either.

I was saying the brands incorrectly.

Brie-Tax (brie cheese- tax like taxes)

Chico (like boy in Spanish)

Color me schooled. I said it wrong for both. Will probably continue to say it wrong...

When I lived in Italy I felt like an idiot for calling it "Chee-co" since it's apparently an Italian brand. I only made that mistake once and from then on I've always called it "Kee-ko." Heh..now I sound stupid whenever I say it here in America since people don't know it's the Italian pronunciation.

It is pronounced Brit-Tax, actually (the employee was wrong!). I used to pronounce it the same way until I started called customer services for Britax and I heard them ALL referring to it as Brit-tax, as well as the videos on Britax's website.
Chicco makes sense that its kee-ko, but I never knew that, so I always pronounced it chee-ko too
