My LO has been moving around a ton, too, and the past few days, she's woken up with her head against the slats. We use Breathable Bumpers... I don't know how much it helps, but I'm hoping it's better than nothing.

We're having the same problem, plus my lo has been getting her arms and legs caught in between the slats. I didn't want to have to, but we're going out to get breathable bumpers today.

I never thought I'd need one but I bought a used Pottery Barn bumper on Ebay, just in case. LO's super wiggly and I'm glad I got it for when we start to sleep train. Knowing how wiggly and strong she is, I'm not so concerned about the suffocation hazard but I'll def get a video monitor before we attempt to have her sleep in her crib.

I currently have a breathable bumper in her crib, but I have a padded one in the closet that I bought second hand for when she is a little bigger (she's due in Sept)

@regberadaisy: I have had mine in since the beginning...but I know most people aren't comfortable with that.

I used my crib bumper (the fluffy "bad" kind) since the beginning.

And we have an angelcare monitor, so if he stops breathing, it will tell us. Actually it's happened before (and not from the bumper)--so I'm *really* glad we went with the pair (bumper+motion monitor).
