I would say Kay-ler because according to what I learned in English class you're supposed to pronounce the first vowel with a hard vowel sound.

My first instinct was Kah-lar (reminds me of the brand Kohler)

I'd think it'd be a soft A, with the H following it - kind of like "dahlia"

At first glance I thought "Kyle-er" (like Skyler) - even though I realize that doesn't really make sense. If you asked me to think about it, I'd say "Kale-er" (like the leafy green).

I know a family with this surname and they pronounce it Kay-ler, so that's how I would, too! (but of course that doesn't make it "right"...ha)
