To my DD I say:
quiet down please
be quiet please
no yelling/screaming
And I say "be quiet" in Korean
I also sing "shut up, just shut up, shut up" really fast so she doesn't know what I'm saying. HAHA

To adults I ask if they can stop talking or be quiet.

I rarely tell people to shut up. I say it all the time in my head though.
