We're making a ton of wonton tomorrow (for dinner and to freeze). I learned how to fold my wonton Cantonese style, but come to find out there are many different ways to wrap them. Some are super cute! So I got to wondering, how do you wrap yours?
Maybe I'll try to take pictures tomorrow and blog the recipe...

I do "envelope" style - it probably has a technical name, but I fold it so it looks like an envelope.

@Mrs. Tricycle: So you fold it in a triangle and then pinch the bottom ends together? So there's one point on top?

I put the ingredients in the middle and then fold the wonton square into a triangle. Then I twist the triangle until I can adhere the two bottom sides of the triangle together. Um, not sure if that's clear? That's how my mom taught me to do it.

That's exactly how I wrap mine! My mom taught me. She used to make us thousands of wontons to freeze when my parents visited while my siblings and I were in college (we all went to the same university). Yum...now I want some!

@Andrea: That's a pretty traditional way to do it. I didn't even know there were other ways until I was trying to refresh my memory today 
@Erwoo: It sounded just right for tomorrow and since we're going to mass tomorrow night, I wanted something that could be ready beforehand, so we can just plop the wonton into the waiting broth and presto, the most comforting dinner ever!

@Mrs. Jacks: Oh yeah, it's such an easy dinner which is why my mom made us so much. I can't wait to have a little more time to wrap some myself again. It's hard with two kids and no help and one of them has major separation anxiety. Have a wonderful holiday!

@erwoo: You too! When you have some help, just wrap a bunch and freeze them. Instant dinner and so much better than most of the instant stuff we eat in this house!
