When LO was very little I'd bring her into the grocery store in the stroller and just buy the necessities. I'd leave big shopping trips to my husband.

Oh no! I always put her carrier in the big part of the cart!

I usually put my LO in the carrier. Even now at 10 months he's usually in the carrier..... Not all stores have those cart wipes. Your LO will also be more comfortable so you could shop more at ease.

@mrsjyw: Do they just not fit, or do they not allow it?
I usually go only when DH can come, we live on the 3rd floor anyway and carrying all those groceries up would be a pain with a baby. Nearly impossible.

We usually used the Ergo or like Rubies said the stroller for small trips. A lot of times I'd end up carrying him and piling the groceries in the stroller! Ha!

I started off putting her seat in the cart.
Once she got older I used the Ergo.

@Bao: they don't allow it!
i'll probably do big shopping trips with dh (we did that pre-LO anyway!)

We use the ergo with an infant insert. If its a small trip to target or something, we use the stroller.

@mrsjyw: Weird!
I've been shopping a few times now and I always put her (in her carseat) in the big part of the cart.
Once I get more confident with this Baby Ktan carrier, I might take her in that, but I'm still worried she might slip out since I'm still learning how to use it.

I also put her whole carseat in the cart because its so cold up here I don't want to fiddle with the Ergo outside.

I started grocery shopping with LO when she was two weeks old. I would wear her in the Moby.
Now that she is 7 months I wear her in the ergo when I grocery shop.

I pushed LOs in the snap n go and put groceries in the basket as long as I could and just made quick trips.

I've always worn her in the grocery store. It keeps people from touching and gawking at her.

I haven't done it solo, ha! The husband and I go to the grocery store together on the weekends
Our stroller does have a huge basket though, I am thinking if I need to run to the grocery [or any store really!] for a few things I can put them in the stroller!?!?!?

When I'm by myself or if he's fussy in his car seat, I wear him in the carrier. When DH and I go together, I push the stroller and he pushes the shopping cart.

WJ was not into babywearing so we always kept him in the carseat or stroller. Our stroller has a big bottom basket so I'd just load the groceries into there. For big items (Costco trips) I'd have Wagon Sr. go on his own at night.

Stroller. We have the UBV, so there is a huge basket, plus I always use my own reusable bags. We don't usually buy a lot at once. When we do, I stuff as much as I can into the 2-3 bags and put the big/heavy items in the basket.

I would put the car seat in the bigger part of the cart and just try to fit groceries around him. I have worn him in the Ergo a couple times but sometimes it can be hard to grab stuff on the bottom shelf. Usually I would just go shopping by myself on Sunday evenings for big trips.

Ergo every time. We were really confused the first time we tried to go grocery shopping and she wouldn't fit in the front, and took up the entire back of the cart. We ended up going and getting teh stroller that day, and using the ergo every time since.

For the first 6-8 weeks we avoided taking her to public places like stores. from then on I used the baby bjorn carrier and then the ergo

Car seat in the big part of the cart and stack stuffs around it, or use the stroller a the cart.
clementine / 828 posts
I would put his car seat in the snap and go stroller frame and only buy what could fit in the basket underneath. It could fit a surprising amount of stuff!

I made a deal with my husband i'll never make him go to the grocery store with me if he never makes me take "the kids" to the grocery store

@mrsjyw: Strange that they don't allow it
In the beginning, I just took her in the stroller and got necessities. DH would go to the store later in the week and get the groceries.
pomegranate / 3414 posts
Big trips always took DH and either used two carts (one for baby and one for groceries) or the Ergo. Necessities, I'd just put the carseat in the actual cart.

Stroller or car seat in the basket. She almost always fell asleep on the drive to the market, or was just happy to be chilling. She gets PISSED when we put her into the carseat, so I never take her out and wear her once she's already strapped in, and if I need to put her back in within 30 mins.

In the cart in his carseat or in the stroller. I never wanted to fiddle with getting him out of his seat and into a carrier and back.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
When she was teeny tiny I would make a list for DH or my mom and they'd shop for me

Carseat in the main part of the cart if she fell asleep on the way to the store. Otherwise in the baby carrier.
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
I'd put her carset in the grocery cart for the most part, but lately it's easier to wear her. My biggest struggle was how to load things back into the car. I usually put her back first, then unload the groceries, then lock the car while I put the cart back, then off we go. I always struggled with putting her back first then putting the cart away, or taking her to the cart thingy with me then putting her in the car.

I wear him in a carrier and push around the cart for big trips. For smaller trips, I would just use the snap & go w/ his carseat and put groceries in the bottom (though he sort of hates his infant car seat now so I don't do this much).
