LO woke up at her usual time, demanded breakfast in bed (and got it), then demanded snuggles and fell back asleep. Woke up around 8:30 for presents!

@Honeybear: love the cat comment!
Glad that some people got to sleep in a little. After I got LO down for his nap at 8:30 (it's usually 9, but he seemed sleepy), I decided to cuddle up to DH for just a few minutes. 2 hrs later I woke up, and realized LO was still sleeping, and the rest of the household was waiting on us! But I was the first one up (after LO). Does that count, if you lie down just for a second? I'd even had breakfast, played with LO, and did some laundry. Lol! We didn't end up opening gifts until after 11.

DD1 was sharing a room with her cousin and they woke up about 8:20. I woke the baby up then so we could do presents. Baby ate and fell back asleep on me.

DD got up at 9am, as usual. Then we did all the presents before she went down for her nap a little after noon. (She's almost 7 months).

@Applesandbananas: what? Did you just leave him in his room?

@Smurfette: no, I went and laid with him when he initially woke up, that didn't work, took him to our bed, that didn't work, took him to the living room, where he played with his new toys and was bouncing off the walls, then tried to get him to lay down after he'd calmed down a little. He snuggled for a bit and then he decided to get back up and run around like a maniac, so I took him for a car ride, which worked almost instantaneously, but he didn't stay asleep during the transfer and was wound for sound after that. Rinse and repeat, the final car ride was around 7 and it took him about 20 minutes to finally zonk.
I tried to put him in his room for a stretch during all this, both with the light on and the light off and both times, he just screamed and cried. This is the third time we've had a crazy MOTN/super early up for the day situation in less than a month, so I'm mulling over what I can do differently next time

@Applesandbananas: that is rough. I would just tell him it isn't time to wake up and tell him he has to stay in his bed.

@Smurfette: lol yeah, that was part of step one, when I was in his room with him. I'm hoping that this is just him being super excited about his new toys and not becoming a trend. After three in very recent memory, I'm nervous!
