My mom's here playing with LO and it makes my heart so happy to see them together.
Mom and LO adore each other.
I love that I have a break from watching the baby too.
I wish my family didn't live 4 hours away (by plane!)

My parents are 45 minutes away, which is perfect as its close enough to see them whenever we like, but far enough that they are not all up in our biz all the time!
My in-laws are on the opposite coast, although MIL might move out to where we live after LO gets here.

@chopsuey119: we are! when we were house hunting a few years back, we decided to stay in our homestate, close to our hometown JUST for this reason. we guessed it would be nice, but didn't realize just how much we'd need/appreciate having our parents nearby!

Both parents live within a 20 minute drive! And my mom's work is only 5 minutes from our house, so I know where she will be spending her lunch hour when I'm home for maternity leave

My parents are 2.5 hours by car, and MIL is 3.5 hours by car. I wish they were both closer, they are both a little far for it to be a one-day trip but with our pets it's hard to plan an overnight visit.

I don't know what I would do if my parents lived that far away! How awesome that you're LO loves your mom even though she barely gets to see her. My LO cries at my inlaws and she sees them at least once a week!
My parents are about 15 minutes away, and my inlaws are 30. Love having family so close!

My family is 10-15 minutes away which is so nice. I am over there a lot, and since having my baby, my mom comes over here a lot. I love having my family close! My sister is 20 min away and our boys are 6 mos apart and so far my nephew (6.5 mos) LOVES my son (4 wks old!)! it's so cute. I had moved away from my family for a year after I graduated HS and I could never do it again. We're too close.
My IL's though live in NY (I'm in MY), that's where I had moved to and met my husband. I know it's hard for him having his family so far away.

My parents (and DH's too) live a 6-hour plane ride away. Until a couple of years ago we lived less than 30 minutes (driving) from both sets of parents. We really miss that proximity, especially now that baby is coming into the picture.

I live next door to my parents and about 150 miles romy in laws. It's hard to judge time because Los Angrles traffic sucks but it's about a three hour drive. I love being so close to my parents. I make dinner for everyone every night and we have a big family dinner. It has been so helpful with four little kids and they love playing with their grand patents

my ILs are 2 minutes away, they watch LO during the day for us. They are great and don't invade our space at all.
My family is an hour away, my mom complains it is too far. I am very close to my family and hope that within a few years will move so that we are somewhere more in the middle.

My parents are 10hrs away, and my in-laws-well we live with them! When I graduate law school in May, we are moving to the state my parents live in to be closer to them. Drama on this end but, I had this plan before I met DH and he's cool with it. It was something I told him on our first date that I was moving away from this place! He one up'd me by putting a ring on it and coming along too
