We were going to throw DS a bday party for his 3rd bday the week before thanksgiving, but DH is traveling two weeks in Nov and I'm just newly back at work so I sort of shelved the idea... but now I'm thinking of just doing something simple at the house.
Do you think 3 weeks is enough notice for an afternoon party at our house?

For locals, sure. For OOT guests maybe not. Either way if you have a local or OOT guest that already has committed to a work or social event that gave them 4-6 weeks heads up then you're SOL anyway.

I ordered mine this weekend and am planning to turn them around by the end of the week for a Nov. 22 party at our house.

I think that is fine! I tend to do 3-4 weeks because LO's birthday is early December so we always do that first weekend and I want to get invites out before thanksgiving.

I voted no, only because we're in the preschool party circuit and we're actually already booked for that weekend! Invites tend to go out at least 6 weeks in advance.

I think 3 weeks is enough, but I'm going to be sending out invites 6 weeks in advance for DS's party. His party is going to be mid-December though, and I know people always have a lot going on then.

We're doing 1 month out but I don't see how 3 weeks wouldn't be sufficient!

we're having a party on 11/21 and i sent them out at 6 weeks out. normally i would say 3-4 is fine, but with it being right around thanksgiving, i wanted to give people enough time to plan ahead. also the place we're having it asked for a headcount a week before the party to order food.

I was planning to do 3 weeks in advance for E's last birthday, but since that didn't work out, for now on, I'm doing at least a month in advance (and yes it's only going to be a small family gathering). I'm actually thinking about sending invites 2 whole months in advance - just to make it perfectly clear that we're the ones that want to throw our daughter her birthday party, but maybe it's a little much

I voted no but my circle is super busy so I'm doing ours 5 weeks in advance and even I think that's too late 
If you're circle is relaxed then 3 weeks should be fine.
