It's a bit of a family joke in our circle that the world stops at 7:30 for me to get Prettybaby to bed. I'm pretty strict about not messing up her schedule (especially at night). While I think our childless friends might find it a little silly but anyone who has ever watched her and put her to bed for us appreciates it. She is a rockstar at night and almost always goes right to bed.

It depends on how she's acting. Sometimes we can keep her up for an hour or more past nap and/or bedtime. Usually if we're busy and she's entertained it's no big deal. But if she's acting cranky.... we get out of there and put her to bed.

My LO is amazing and will fall asleep whenever we put her down, so last night we had dinner with my aunt who lives in FL, 7:30 hit, she started to rub her eyes and we gave her a bottle and put her in her car seat and she was out! So we were able to finish up our converstation and then go home, it's nice that she wasn't just crying/crabby wanting to go to sleep.

I hate to mess with bedtime. It takes something pretty crazy to get me to budge on that. DH comes home today after working offshore for 3 weeks and his flight lands at 8:20, so we won't get home until after 9p. He is going to try to get a flight that lands at 5p bc I was like "That is all up in the middle of bath time/bedtime!"

He's flexible with bedtime for about 30 min either way depending on when his last nap falls.
He's also home most days during the week, but his day naps/schedule are thrown out the window when we go out and about. he doesn't really have a set nap schedule tho, he's more on a 3 hour cycle so it works well

We're able to be pretty flexible with her. Skipping naps and late bedtimes don't affect her much unless we do it several days in a row.

When my son has eaten a good lunch and taken a good nap, he's more pleasant in the afternoon and also sleeps better at night, so we don't vary the routine too much.
eta: I think a lot of older folks "forget" that they didn't leave the house for the first two years of their kids lives, at least that's how it is with my relatives, LOL!

I'm flexible, mostly because our little one is so flexible. Sometimes, I'll push back bed time so he can see his daddy. Other time, if he is fussy, he will go to bed at his normal bedtime.

I was crazy about G's schedule, this time with P not so much! She gets the needed sleep for her age in a 24 hrs & I do monitor her max wake times, but that's as strict as I am about it.

I'm really flexible with his bedtime bc he's really laid back baby who doesnt thrive off a schedule for some reason. just follow his cues.

I Do Not Mess with the schedule. I did it once and learned my lesson.

I like to get her down about the same time every night, but I'm not super strict about it. We don't have visitors at our house past about 7pm though, I don't need an audience for bathtime/nursing her down... I prefer to deal with any fussiness alone!

We're pretty flexible. She naps around 10am and 3pm, but it's not set in stone. Bedtime usually starts around 7pm but if we're out or if people are over it's not a big deal to extend it a bit. She usually gets pretty fussy by then but if she's doing okay I don't mind keeping her up. She's a great sleeper now and pretty much goes down whenever we put her in her crib.
I think it's good for a kid to learn to be a little flexible with routines because there are going to be times when things aren't exactly how they usually are.

I used to shoot for a 1900-1930 bedtime providing Miss A was still napping at 1500 but flexibility has been forced on us as we're in the process of transitioning down to two naps so our sleep's all over the show. LO has also stretched out her awake time to around three hours so at the moment I try to start the bedtime routine three hours after she gets up from her last nap otherwise A just isn't tired enough to go down.
Hopefully we'll get ourselves into a more consistent routine once we're through all this transition.

Naps are flexible, only if I have to be. In fact, he tries to skip them.. If I don't get him to bed (we're out or something) then he will gladly skip a nap. I don't like doing this. We will never skip more than 1 nap a day though.
At night, I am SUPER ANAL about getting him to bed on time - mainly because he is terrible by then and I am exhausted. So, it's best for all parties involved that we go to bed on time. -
I'm happiest with flexibility. We have approximate times, but it doesn't always happen right then. If we have evening plans, I make sure he takes that second nap, other times we just go day to day with how he feels since he's getting close to dropping that second nap.
