I have been loving seeing regular everyday people stepping up, showing kindness and helping one another (just from random FB posts I see).

From my Christian perspective, I think this has really challenged the church and Christians to live up to our calling and stop hiding behind church walls.

I have decided to act locally. I have a few month action plan to deal with education concerns in my state.

Hopefully, political correctness is on its way out and it will be easier to tell decent people from hateful excuses for human beings. I don't know when the idea that you shouldn't say offensive racist or sexist stuff turned into being afraid to say *anything* that's not sanitized, but that's not healthy and look where it got us, all that stuff festering under the surface.

I have realized I need to have tough conversations with my daughter- she is only 3 but it's pretty much impossible to hide all news these days. We have been confronting mean vs. nice behavior in regards to race, disabilities, gender identity, and sexual orientation. We also talked about consent and I have been making a conscious effort to make sure she consents to all touching (i.e. she is allowed to decline a hug/ kiss from parents and grandparents and ask for space/ alone time. Mommy and Daddy defend her choices from well meaning grandparents.) It's absolutely crazy to me how much she can understand even at this young age so I am super glad I started having these conversations.
