Definitely made me even more pro-life.

Can I just say though, how much I hate the term pro-life... as if I'm all for life and anyone pro-choice is "against life". sheesh.

I don't think my views have changed. I was pro-choice before and I'm still pro-choice.

Being pregnant hasn't, but having losses has. I am pro life, but it more makes my heart break for women who experience that kind of loss in any way, whether elective or not.

it made me think "how could someone abort their baby" after feeling the attachment i had for my lo from the very start of my pregnancy. but it has not changed my opinion. i am just as pro-choice as i was before.

@Mrs. Pen: I'm so glad to see your comment about the term 'pro-life'! I have a friend who is very very conservative and calls me 'pro-murder' for being pro-choice. I tell her I am also pro-life because life is great.

As for me, I am still pro-choice, but having suffered 2 losses its tough for me to come to terms with, even though I believe women should have the right.

@kjpugs: I agree with everything you said.

I also have realized just how amazing women who choose to have the baby and go forward with an adoption are. I used to think of it as this easy fix all or something, but its no joke and for someone to go through all of that emotionally and physically is amazing.

It made me more against abortion. Primarily through growth & revelation of certain scriptures... specifically that my body isn't "my" body so it's not really my "right" or "choice" to make. Others also grew a new heart in me for moms that have experienced abortion in their own lives.

So, more against but at the same time more compassionate.

@Mrs.Someone: Whoa! That's horrible. Like @Mrs. Pen I'm very "pro-life" but my perspective is much more focused on the position & generally incredibly difficult circumstance the mother finds herself in than the "murdered" baby. Infact, I seriously hate that ANYONE could have that perspective & have so much hate towards someone else.

I was extremely pro choice and still am, but less so. It hurts my heart thinking about people terminating babies at 14 weeks (my provinces 'limit') for non medical reasons now that I know how much of a baby they are that early.

I've always straddled the line between pro-life/pro-choice but I think since becoming pregnant I've leaned more towards pro-life. Feeling all the amazing things that come with pregnancy makes me wonder how anyone could ever end it on purpose.

BUT I know there are such situations, ones that I haven't experienced so I don't think I'm qualified to make judgements and only women in those situations should have the option and the choice.

Now that I type this out I'm still not sure if I'm pro-life or pro-choice. Lol

I know I couldn't personally ever get one, but I don't believe making them illegal would be a good idea at all.

I've never been pregnant, so I can't say how my views will change.

I will say that there have been several occasions when pregnant, pro-life relatives have commented on their pregnancies about how they could never get an abortion. Well of course not! They were pregnant with healthy, very much wanted babies from planned pregnancies. Of course our own life experiences form the foundation of our beliefs, but I think objectivity is important too.

I am still just as pro-choice as ever. I must say, having a baby is incredible but so hard and it has underlined for me that you really have to want it for it to be a positive experience for all involved.

The thing is, 99.9 if not 100% of us on here really really really really want to get pregnant and have a baby. We can't fathom aborting our child because it is wanted. It is wished for, prayed for, hoped for, done everything in our power for. We aren't the women who are choosing abortion as an option because it is what is the best choice for THEM. For whatever reason women have abortions, I can almost guarantee that they are not similar to most of us. It's not my business to tell then what the right choice for them is. That was my opinion before, and it remains the same.

It definitely made me more pro life. Before I found out I was pregnant when I was 14 I had suspicions that I was and was preparing to have an abortion but when I actually tested and got a bfp to me there was no more choice because by having sex I already made my choice. I still hate myself for even considering it but it also gave me a better understanding of why others do it. Even though I believe abortion is wrong I couldn't judge a person who was raped for having one but I do think that if you have sex willingly you should take responsibility or your actions and not just dispose of the inconvenience.
Eta: But I would never be hateful toward someone that has had an abortion and these are things that I wouldn't say to someone who is thinking of getting one, or has had one because I know that it isn't helpful, I am only sharing my opinion here, definitely not trying to offend!

It made me more pro-choice for the world at large, but more pro-life for myself. Knowing what pregnancy is like makes me realize that it would be incredibly difficult for ME to get an abortion, regardless of the circumstances. Knowing what pregnancy is like also made me realize that there is no way that anyone should be forced to continue on in a pregnancy if they do not feel that they can or should.
