I used to really enjoy getting my nails done, but now I can't be bothered.
If I want to be pampered, I just want an hour of silence to myself to get a bath and sip coffee (or wine ) without the crying or whining or "mom!" haha

I still enjoy a pedicure, but honestly if I can go to Target by myself in peace I'm happy!

Um ... literally all I want now is a bath, a strong drink, and a nap!
I haven't shaved my legs in 8 days, and my hair is a hot mess.

Pre baby - I'd get facials.
Post baby - going to the grocery store by myself and taking my time is a treat.

I didn't have anything in particular pre-kids that I would call pampering but nowadays having a bath or shower with the bathroom door closed (and by myself) is amazing to me!

If I could just sit in my car by myself and have a cup of coffee I would feel thoroughly pampered

Not really. I mean, I enjoy the grocery store alone, but don't consider it pampering. I make time for massages still, hubs is happy to watch LO so I can.

haha no.
I enjoy alone time and solo outings, but pampering is the spa, getting my hair done, manis/pedis

Going grocery shopping alone, getting myself a treat and sitting in the car after eating it in silence for 5 minutes is heaven!! My DH will never know I do this every sunday lol.

Nope just the frequency has decreased!
Pampering for me is spa, massage, mani/pedi, hair appt!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
What's pampering? Ha ha. I rarely get any of that anymore! I've had one pedicure in the last year. There isn't enough time.

@MrsH: Yes, eating a meal with both hands!
I would love to spend time at the spa; that was my ultimate pampering pre-baby. Baths were a distant second. Now, I really look forward to those baths, while DH handles the baby for, maybe, 20 mins.

Nope - still the same!
Having a child doesn't make me not enjoy my mani/pedis and massages!

My idea of pampering is still the same! Getting toes done, day at the hair salon, eyelash extensions, massages, etc. Time alone is nice, and I value it much more now, but I definitely don't consider it pampering.

leisurely shopping at Whole Foods or taking a one hour $5 healthy cooking class

I have a 10 day old and all I want is for someone to hold him for like 2 hrs so I can get a nap!

I had a doctors appointment yesterday and arrived early. I bought lunch and ate in a bus shelter all by myself. In silence.
It. Was. Amazing.

I gotta say that solo Target trips can feel more amazing than a spa treatment post-kids. I suppose it's not "pampering", but it makes me happy!

Well now pampering is just a long hot shower. My standards have dropped

I left work early enough the other day that I had a half hour of free time before I had to get my son from daycare. I went to a bookstore, browsed around, and bought a book for myself. It felt so luxurious!

Add me to the shower camp. Have a 3 week old, colicky baby and a 2 year old. My showers usually end abruptly because there's a screaming baby outside the bathroom door. I call it a success if I don't have to jump out in the middle of shaving my legs (which happens rarely enough).
That's just the early days though, things get better quickly and then I'll be able to have much more legitimate pampering times!

Oh, my favorite was when I was on maternity leave with my first. He would fall asleep in the car after baby group so I would grab a coffee, park in my garage and enjoy it while browsing my phone and listening to music while he slept in the back. Was pretty much my main alone time for his first year and I cherished it!

Before was definitely getting a pedicure...and while it still is now, I also enjoy shopping by myself or just DH and I if grandparents can watch LO.

Well I work so I get lots of alone time without DS. I still get mani/pedis etc, but it's less often.

My standards have definitely dropped post kids! Honestly, I enjoy dentists appointments as much I use to enjoy hair appointments

@oliviaoblivia: haha, sometimes after a late night at work, i get take out for supper and eat in my car while watching a show on my phone. i love it!
@HLK208: lol, i don't think i can go as far as saying i enjoy dentist appts!
I do think it has changed. I find some appts i make to be more of a hassle (haircut, waxing) because i would rather use that time to do something i enjoy more but when i make an appt like that, it will be my "me" time for the week. I still enjoy getting my nails done though.

@californiadreams: my dentist has a spa like office - with giant windows overlooking a gorgeous pond! It's so serene add some laughing gas and I'm one happy camper
