I almost always try to plan something fun for my birthday each year. But this year I am not feeling it! My bday is in 2 weeks and I have nothing planned.
Can I do Nothing? Can that be my plan?

My 30th birthday is Saturday and I let my DH plan things for this year...but my mom just called this morning upset that we were only doing cake with my family. He obviously didn't take my hints. I feel like I get so excited for my birthday and then end up disappointed. I just can't win!
You can definitely do nothing if that's what you want!

I'm so into my birthday, it's sad really, lol. That doesn't necessarily mean I make big plans though! Especially now that I'm busy with LO, a birthday doing 'nothing' might be perfect! This year I'll probably want a mini spa day and out to dinner. Nothing wild!

My birthday this year, I wasn't into it with all that was going on in our life. We went up to my parents for it. I can't remember much of what we did for it. I think we went out to dinner with my parents babysitting. I think I'm slowly coming out of the haze of what this year has been. I know that you're going through something similar, so I know that feeling of not being excited or jazzed for holidays when life is tough.
My LO's and DH's birthday are 7 days apart. I'm usually excited and planning for DH's. This year, he'll be getting a cake and gifts. I gave birth a week before his, so LO was his gift.

My birthday was yesterday and we went to the beach! I love my birthday

Every year my husband and I go to afternoon tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto for my birthday. I usually also do something small with friends and family. I'm not that in to my birthday.
In my family, birthdays stop being special after you turn 16 (Until you get to 50, then every 10 years after that matter). In DH's family birthdays are pretty important.

I'm not a huge birthday person. My birthday was Monday and baby and I were both sick. I was perfectly happy to sit on the couch watching whatever I wanted on TV with a big glass of wine while hubs handled bath and bed time (which ended up a fail because sick baby wanted mama to put her to bed).

Yes - you can do whatever you want for your bday! Mines coming up in about 2 weeks also. I'm not a huge bday person soy husband and I are just going to spend a relaxing day in the Hamptons. His family likes to get together for everyone's bdays but that's just not for me.

I'm so not into it. I take the day off and want to be left alone really. Now that I share my biryhday practically with our anniversary, which means a whole lot to DH, my bday is even less important.

We are not birthday people, really. We usually go out to eat or order in, and that is about it.
Do what you want!

@Bao: Happy Birthday!
@MamaMoose: and happy birthday to you, too.
I'm not much of a birthday person, either. I tend to get gloomy around my birthday!

I looooove birthdays! I always try to do something fun or special.
DH is turning 30 in 1.5 years and he said he wants to go on a cruise for his 30th! So we're looking into it and starting to save

I love my birthday! I always wear a crown and bring cupcakes to work... My 4 year olds love it

Mine is really close to Christmas so it's always low key, which is fine by me. I usually take the day off work and go get a pedicure, do a little shopping, then have dinner and cake with DH.

I love my birthday (and really, everyone's birthday! happy birthday @Bao: and @MamaMoose:!) I don't like spending too much money, but I always do something "special" even if it's Chinese take-out and a cupcake.
So I think doing nothing, if that's what you want, is perfect. You've lived another year - hurray!!

@Bao: Happy Birthday!
I love birthdays, I try to make it at least a little special.

my birthday is usually pretty low-key--it's right after the holidays and usually either I or my friends are travelling (I'm on an academic schedule so it's almost always during winter break) so not a very good time for a big get together or anything. My 30th is this January but my friend's bachelorette party will be on the same day so it'll be her celebration instead! I'm a little bummed to be honest since this is a big year--for dh's 30th I organized a really awesome party and arranged for some of his best friends from out of town to come visit-- but dh and I will go to dinner a different day I'm sure.

After my 30th, definitely not into it anymore! We didn't do anything besides go out to dinner, just DH and I.

I stopped celebrating with parties after my 18th.
Usually just had/have small dinners with friends and/or fam.
They last 4 years dh and I just ate out with the kid(s).

I haven't been into my birthday in years. I'm so thankful to be a year older, but not big on celebrating!

I love my birthday. My DH always plans something nice for us to do.

I'm super into the low key these days. DD's bday is a few weeks before mine and that just seems to take priority these days. I do expect a gift from DH though
