4 is a breath of fresh air, but I found threenage-hood continued until about 4 years 3 months for us... so it wasn't like a light switch.

I have a brand new threenager, but we seem to have dialed it in a little better this time. It's still tough, but better.

My theory is that you have to pay the piper at some point! Sometimes it happens during the terrible twos, sometimes when they're a threenager... and sometimes it's in the F'ing fours!

I think the fours were the hardest for us... but things have gotten a lot better recently! My son is 5 years and almost 5 months...

4 started out rough (the first 3 months) but the rest of it was great!! WAY better than threes. The fives...not as great. The Fing Fives. I'm hoping 6 will be better.

@Mamaof2: How far in?! I PRAY that's the case!!!! DS argues about absolutely everything with us...I know its apart of development (understanding there are other options/ideas) but shoot, it feels like we're losing control sometimes.

There were some rough patches, but it has actually gotten worse as we are approaching 5. I guess it might be the f-ing 5's for us, although she has calmed down this past week so who knows! Dealing with a defiant 4 year old has been way harder than a 2 or 3 year old, though, that's for sure.

4's have been pretty good so far (3 months in). There is definitely more sassy pants and talking back, but his logic and language really impress me. That said, my son was never one to have tantrums, so we have mostly avoided that.

@mrbee: lol I have been wondering what to call the 4s.

Yup, I"ve heard many people call them the f-ing 4's.
