Our play food is crammed into the play kitchen or shopping cart. I need to come up with a better method because LO can never find the stuff that she wants!

We have very little, the stuff all fits in an old lunch tote of mine.
What about some clear food organizers? Like the ones you get at the grocery store?

Ours is all crammed into the play kitchen too. But DS hasn't been that interested in it in some time.

We have little baskets that came with our costco play food - 6 baskets total. Each basket has a food group - baked goods, fruits, veggies, meat & potatoes, eggs, and misc. I keep 3 baskets in her fridge, 2 in the freezer and 1 in the stove. I also have a wooden box in her stove that has those little cardboard boxes of food someone gave her.
I think having a loose system makes clean up so much easier. Just get some little containers and keep other kitchen supplies in the same general area (shelf for kitchen tools, shelf for baking supplies, shelf for cups/bowls/drinks, etc). I love it bc LO knows how to clean up and keeps it pretty organized day to day. Of course it gets messed up after friends come over but it's easy to clean up since everything has it's spot

She carries the playfood around in a little basket, reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood So I store it in there, plus in the kitchen cupboards.

Ours is all dumped in a big bin and therefore never gets played with. That's a good weekend project for me...

@sandy: Wow! Do you mind if I ask how old your LO is? What you have is definitely something I hope to accomplish with my LO one day

@SugarplumsMom: she's 2 years 8 months but she has always been pretty good at staying organized. I think it's like the Montessori philosophy that kids can be orderly if their environment is structured in an orderly way. We've had her kitchen for about a year now and she's always done a good job at putting things in their place

We don't have any of it but I foresee it in a bucket in the living room if/when we do. We have one of those giant buckets from target as well as those box/cubby things from ikea that hold books and toys in the living room. Lo kind of has her own area in there with a play mat and a climber/slide next to the window.
