Just curious 
It's been almost 2 weeks since E started taking steps and he has started walking more and more. I think his record is about 20 steps right now.
So how long was it between when your LO was taking steps and when they walked more than crawled...or chose walking as their mode of transportation?

Around one week R was doing it more. By 2-3 that was her preferred mode since she realized she could carry things.

Ummm, a few hours? W went from crawling to running, lol, there was no "taking steps" (unless he was doing it behind my back). He was almost 14 months old though so he just waited till he was completely ready!

M was 11 months when she took her first steps but it wasn't until 13 months that she was full on walking.

I would say within a few weeks. B was a late crawler but an early walker.

About a week for my LO. It was weird one week she wasn't walking at all and the next she was.

About a week - it happened so fast! Once he realized he could walk faster than he could crawl, he was all about walking. He was 11 months when he took first steps.

Mine was about 1.5-2 months, but he was super young. So from months 7-9 he was cruising and walking with assistance.
After he started to walk "properly" it was a couple of weeks.

He started cruising/walking with assistance from 7-9.5 or so months. At 9.5 months he took his first steps, but they were more like...trying to fall and not succeeding? Rather than intentional steps. His first solid, intentional steps were around 10.5 months (Father's Day, actually). He's been getting better every day. It's been about a month since that, and he's very steady. He still falls down sometimes, but can pick himself back up and doesn't crawl much anymore.

For Ellie it was the same day. She likes to watch and think about things before she does them. So she is often "late" to new skills, but then makes up for lost time with competency. She was 16 months.
For Lorelei it was about a week. She took first solo steps after the stool she was pushing slid to the side of her (she just kept going for a few steps). Apparently it both scared and impressed her, because she started trying here and there to do more. Then about a week later she was walking full-time. She was 11.5 months.

i think its different for everyone. Tor was so early to crawl and stand on his own that i was surprised when he wasnt walking at 8 months. then at 9 months and one week he took a few steps and three days later he was full on walking. i was convinced it would be longer because he could crawl so much faster.now at 10.5 months he is dancing and running. with crawling though he started to rock back and fourth at 5 months and it was about a month before he truly crawled. Little E is amazing so i expect he will be full on walking and running in NO TIME! so cute.

Definitely within a week for us. She was on the late end to walk, but once she took her first steps she was hooked.

Now, 3 weeks into walking, she is running every where!!

Interesting!!!! I'm definitely expecting it to take him a while since he's only 9.5 months
