I just got back from running on the treadmill.
I used to be able to run 5+ miles without stopping, no problem.
I did .54 miles and slowed down to walk.
Sad thing is, I was really proud of myself. haha.
You?

@chopsuey119: we are the same!! I can run about half a mile and then I need to stop for 1-2 minutes, then I can run another .25 miles... BUT to be fair I've NEVER been a runner, I think the furthest I could ever run was maybe a mile? But I never really tried. I wish I was a runner and I wish I could go further.

Ummm, not very far at all. Im just beginning training now, and I go 3 miles total, but I jog 2-3 blocks outside then walk 1-2. And repeat!

I was trying to get to 5k before I got pregnant. I think I could do about 2.5 km or so. Maybe about 10-15 mins. I can't wait to get back into running but I am going to be so out of shape.

@Mrs. Pen: that's really good! you could slowly work your way up to running more. I was so determined to run at least 1, but my old knees started hurting a lot. didn't wanna injure myself so I walked a bit, then started running again! haha. I actually ran another 1/4 mile before I walked again.
@grizz: wow!!

About a mile . . . although it is certainly not nearly as fast as I was pre-pg. The only reason I ran that far is that there was someone else in the gym, and I didn't want them to think I was a wimp. I would have stopped at right around 3/4 of a mile . . . I am jigglier than pre-pg, and running made me feel ridonc and sad.

@MsLipGloss: when I run and feel my fat jiggle I feel like it's just being jiggled right off my body hahaha. it works in my head

Maybe a block if I was about to miss the bus??
But to be fair, I *am* 9 months pregnant. Even before I'm more of a run/walk person (run 3 min walk 1 or whatever).
@chopsuey119: It's smart that you listened to your knees. You also can develop shin splints really quickly and you'd have to stop for a while for them to heal. Of course, I'm all about "listening to my body" when it means I can stop exercising sooner...

@MsLipGloss: haha someone was running next to me and I ran a little longer even though my vag bone started hurting because I didn't want him to think I was a wimp too!
@Mrs. Pen: omg I really enjoy the jiggling feeling for the same reason!

Right now? Probably 12 miles or so. I've run 26.2 miles without stopping in the past though! I'm not in that kind of shape at the moment.

@MsLipGloss: ah I totally get into competitions with the ppl on the machines next to me!
I think I could run about 3 miles now if I paced myself.

@MsLipGloss: @Mrs. Pen: if my Spanxx aren't clean, I can't use the treadmill that day. I can't handle the jiggle.
I can run like a mile? I have always been an interval runner.
I run a mile, walk a min or two, and then go back to running.
I have NEVER been able to just and run and run without breaks.
I feel proud of myself for any time I put in working out

I can run 5 on a treadmill with at least three trashy magazines to look at and zone out on. But I really have a hard time running outside. This causes me a HUGE problem.
DH is graduating from the sheriff's academy in a couple of weeks and he has some kind of "hot dog run" (sounds lame) that is like a 5K and the families and whoever can run behind them. The guys run about an 8 minute mile. I would fall out of formation pronto! I thought about taking a leave of absence from work to try to get my a** into gear. But basically, I just don't want to run in it. Can't I just stand on the sidelines and wave a flag or something? Thanks for listening... pitty party over.

@grizz: I was training for a marathon when I started law school . . . I never finished my training though (school just took over). I think my average long run was 12ish miles? It didn't take long to realize that that kind of mileage (I was averaging 30-40 miles a week)can take a toll on your body!

I just started, so I'm at 5 minutes before I have to walk. I do a run/walk thing right per my trainer.

A couple months ago I had worked my way up to 4.5 miles...and I was NOT a runner. Since the summer though, I've fallen off the wagon and haven't ran in about 6 weeks. It's just too hot outside!

i hate running!!! but when i'm in shape i can run for an hour easily -- runner's high! not sure the distance, but i keep a steady pace the entire time.
unfortunately i'm almost always out of shape. i did run recently when i was late meeting some friends -- made it 4 blocks!

Well I ran 3 today, so at least that much! I've been trying to get back into running lately, but it's hard b/c usually I have to run with the jogging stroller.

haha... running...
I think at the moment I could make it maybe 100 meters if I really had to... but I'm 38 weeks pregnant.
But before I got pregnant, I could easily run a 10k straight.

Probably a few minutes? I can't even use being pregnant as my excuse. I have never, ever been a runner. I was a dancer and my knees are just not cut out for running. Heaven help me if I ever have to outrun someone trying to do me harm!

I did 6.3 miles today without feeling tired at all! The beginning of June, I could barely run a full mile...which is sad because I use to be a great runner.

pre preg I was doing C 2 5K to try get fit. I got to the point where I was doing 5 min run, 2.5 min break, 8 min run, 3 min break, 5 min run. something like that at least. I promptly got shin splints and didn't run again for a week then found out I was pregnant, which was a nice excuse to not run again
