I want to know if its worth buyin a white noise machine, LO will be 5 months old next week. When it was hot we just used the fan, and we also have a CD with rain sounds that I play sometimes, but the CD gets annoying because I burnt it myself and there are gaps in the tracks and it makes a weird sound when it repeats.. Is it worth it to buy a white noise machine now and which brand do you recommend?

Lo is almost 18 months old and we still use ours!

Liv is 13 months and still use it for all naps and sleeps. We downloaded WhiteNoise onto my old iphone and use that on a sound dock in her room, but might get a machine at some point

We are still using ours and my son is 19 months old. We have the sleep sheep but I'm sure you saw the other thread on the wide variety of opinions on that particular white noise maker.

DD stopped using hers right before her second birthday. We used a humidifier with her. We use my Droid with a white noise app for DS.

my kids are 5 months and i think we stopped using it like a month ago. i do have the ipod running all night, playing lullabies. although last night was the first time i had nothing on and they slept fine!
btw, i used the cloud b giraffe.

use one in olive's room and charlie's room for every nap and bedtime. and when we travel we play white noise for both of them on our iphones. couldn't live without it!

My LO is still using the sleep sheep at 16.5 months. We only turn it on at the beginning of nap/bedtime. It's part of his routine and helps him fall asleep, but he doesn't need the white noise throughout the night.

I have been considering using one too. DS is 6.5 mos. The other day we were at my sister's and he napped in her pack n play in her bedroom and she had an air purifier in there that sounded like white noise and he took two of the most amazing naps EVER. He woke up so happy and refreshed. I think I might go check out the one she got.

We'll use it forever, in fact, I want one for myself. We have the one that Chopsuey linked to. It's simple and there's little to break. Plus, when the power goes out it's mechanical with a switch (v. digital) so it just comes right back on when the power comes back on.

Still using ours daily at 6.5 months and don't see us stopping anytime soon...

We, too, are big fans of the white noise machine. We have this one http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/Product.asp?SKU=14643125 and we love it because it's inexpensive and small enough to travel with.

my son is 26 months and we still use it. It just helps to reduce the noise in the house because his room is right next to the kitchen/dining room.

The sleep sheep is in Sienna's room... but I love that the Conair can keep going on all night (and is plugged in rather than uses batteries only)

My husband and I have one for ourselves, so I don't have any plans to take the one out of LO's room. We have the Marpac one, as well, which is not digital, but motorized. This means no weird loop or digital sound. But when we travel, we use the Sound Machine app downloaded on our iphones.

We still use an app on my Ipod and LO is 5 months. Im scared to stop using it!
