DH hasn't really decided or even mentioned it to his boss. His boss has two LOs so I'm sure it won't be a big deal to take time and legally, he's entitled to the 12 weeks. But, I highly doubt DH will take the full 12.

He'll take a week off when the baby's born, but has to take it as vacation time--he hasn't been at his job a full year yet, so he's not covered under FMLA.

He took off 4 weeks (well, I guess technically 4 weeks & 1 day). I was induced on a Friday, and he went back 4 Mondays later (supplemented CA-FPL with PTO).

He doesn't get paternity leave at his work, he has to use PTO. I was induced on a Wednesday so he took off wed, thurs, fri of that week and then the whole week following. Not sure what he's going to do this time. I'm assuming about the same

He only gets a week of actual paternity leave. He could take more, out of vacation days, but he probably won't, because he only gets 4 weeks of vaca a year, and our families live in wildly different geographical areas.

He took six weeks off but not consecutively. He broke them out throughout my 4 month maternity leave. It was quite nice having him at home with me and the baby.

dh doesn't get paternity leave. He's gonna use about 2 sick days. His company relies on him too much to be there.

He took 12 weeks off. It just happened that our LO was born the day after his summer classes ended (professor) so he had the entire summer off. If she had been born during a semester, he would have taken 12 weeks of leave.

We only get two weeks paid paternity leave here in the UK but DH plans to take 2 weeks holiday straight afterwards. That will give him 4 weeks at home with me and LO!

We get 1 year paternity/maternity leave. We're musing about me taking 9-10 months and DH taking 2-3 months. He would get topped up on salary, so it would be a no-brainer for me to go back early. Also a lot of moms have told me that it's easier to go back to work when hubby is with the baby than if they are in daycare. Kind of an easier transition.

1-2 weeks. He's home by 3, though, so he will still be around a lot!

Luckily, I went in on a Friday, so he had the weekend off... He only took like 2 days off...

We're both saving our vacation time in anticipation of getting pregnant so he'd be able to take off 4 full weeks.

He took off 2 full weeks and then right after he went back I got mastitis so he stayed home for a couple days and then worked part time from home for a couple weeks.

2 weeks. I wish he would have taken 4 off and I begged him to, but he didn't think it was necessary. After the baby was born and his 2 weeks were up he was wishing to stay home longer.

Dh took off 8 weeks. We took turns. I took 8 weeks and when my 8 weeks where up he took his 8 weeks
