They have yet to stay one night. They are homebodies (well, my FIL is).

Is too long an appropriate answer? Usually 4-7 days. Usually my FIL works some of those days and now they split time between us and BIL (who lives about 2 hrs from us), so not too bad really. My parents typically stay for a week.
ETA, we are in SoCal, ILs are in Denver, my parents are in midwest

One week but including both weekends usually. So 9 days. They try to visit twice a year. We also try to visit them twice a year but we normally stay just 7 days, Sunday - Saturday.
One time my mother went on a 3 week vacation to China and she's our daycare. My ILs were nice enough to stay with us during that time to provide childcare while we worked. It was actually pretty nice!

@Ms.Badger: hahaha.. My MIL is coming to visit for 2.5 weeks. She visited in June for 3 weeks. It's sooooo long.

When my family comes usually 2-3 nights because it's a 7 hour drive. When my ILs weren't local they stayed a week.

Oh my gosh - like @Ms.Badger: I was going to say "too long," but it's only ever for a weekend. Usually just two days and one night. It is often though, like every other month - MIL is a worrywart and a hoverer, so it's just kind of draining...

depends, but my inlaws 2-5 days. my parents 3-14 days.

They usually stay 10 days. Once they stayed 16 but it was much too long.

we always discuss 1 week visits. it usually ends up being 2. and sometimes they extend and don't tell us until we pick them up from the airport. fun times.

Luckily my IL's are local so they never stay.. now ask my DH! My family is 5 hours away They typically stay 2-3 nights BUT we've had daycare closings and my mom will come cover those times, once it was over 2 weeks. DH was so happy when it was over...

My IL's are 2.5 hours away. FIL has stayed over two nights when he helped out with babysitting Liam, but MIL has never slept here. Usually they just go home, but they have also stayed in a hotel nearby.

They stay anywhere from 1 week to 1 month. Same with my mom. And we live in a 2 bedroom, haha

My FIL lives 3 hrs away. Usually its a day trip. Sometimes 1 night. My MIL lives a plane ride away. She's stayed here anywhere from 3-9 nights.

They live 2 hours away & usually just come for the day. I haven't set up our guest room and I'm not really in a hurry to!

They are local (1.5 hrs) so they never stay over. MIL did once, because she and I were flying out somewhere the next morning, and DH drove us both in to the airport.

My dad is actually visiting now for 2 weeks...but he lives across the ocean. My inlaws are a 2 hr plane ride and they visit for about 4 days.

5 days, but I can't complain because they don't stay with us at night so it breaks it up (even now that we have a bedroom for them finally . . . they like their own space with a king bed and private bathroom)

Typically 1-2 nights. If we need help, as long as we need them to stay (within reason).

@lamariniere: I'd like to stay with you for 2 weeks! I'm so jealous of your IG pics.

@BandDmommy: our parents are all retired, so 2-4 times a year which means 4-8 visits a year from family.
I do wish we had more space, but our parents are really helpful when they visit so it's still more pros than cons overall.

Lately they have been driving up and staying for like 3 hours. It's kind of ridiculous since they live 3 hours away, but FIL won't leave his dogs and they are not well-behaved enough to come here.

6 to 7 nights. they live quite far though and visit 1-2 times per year. i always wonder why they don't stay longer after travelling all that way!
