Tonight Olive went down in under 5 minutes! It was such a pleasant surprise... usually take takes 30-50 minutes. If she has to go to the bathroom, then it can extend to two hours!
How long does it take your LO to go down at night?

Usually my oldest stalls for a good 10-15 minutes each night, but she went down in a good mood tonight, so that's a plus. My youngest went down good tonight initially but keeps waking up, hopefully that's not a sign of how the rest of my night is going to go!

Usually 30 mins unless he is really tired. I'm not really ever sure though because unless he is sick or incredibly needy after having no nap, I don't stay in the room while he falls asleep.

The 2 year old will play and talk to himself for a good while, 15-45 minutes. The 8 month old usually goes right down, maybe roll around for a few minutes.

She "reads" in her crib by the light of her crib aquarium for about 15 minutes. Think were going to find a way to mount that thing on the wall once she moves to her bed...she loves that thing!

Usually around 15 minutes or so. Sometimes 5 min, sometimes 25. Usually she needs her binky put back in 1-4 times before she falls asleep. She's 6 mo this week.

If you count our bedtime nursing session, 15-20 minutes, but I put her down awake, she will fuss for literally 1 second and by the time I am closing the door she is falling asleep.

Ugh. Ours is getting longer and longer although it's never been more than an hour. My goal is 30 minutes.

30 seconds to 2 minutes for the 11 month old.
About 35 minutes (sometimes more) for the 2.5 year old.

It's usually immediate. She rolls over and falls asleep after we put her in her crib.
Naps are a different story....

We're currently at 20 minutes from the time we sit down in the rocker. It used to be 10-15, but she's got some major sleep issues going on right now. Night wakings are taking almost 45 minutes She has to be PASSED OUT for us to do the transfer anymore.

He goes down without a sound. I can usually see him snuggling or playing with his little dog for about 5 minutes and then out like a light.

They usually pass out pretty quickly. My older one might read a few books first.

Not long! He is great about bedtime. On our way home tonight he even asked to go to bed and it was only 5pm!
Even if he doesn't fall asleep right away, he talks or sings to himself.

Right away. We usually hear her say "night night" as we shut the door and then don't hear another peep til morning.

After the lights are out, 30-60 minutes. She used to be one of those that as soon as you turned the lights out she would be asleep. Ever since she turned 2, its been a struggle!

15 minutes. And we have to sit in there with him. I'd like to get out of that habit soon.

Minutes, since we dropped the afternoon nap. Before that, it could go on for an hour.
pomegranate / 3355 posts
5-30 mins. Some nights are just quicker than others and other nights she'll roll around and whine for a while but usually it's pretty quick.

Immediately! She is 20 months and when she sees her crib she's practically pushing us away wanting to get in! I don't know why or how she's such an easy/good sleeper. Both DH and I have trouble sleeping.

It used to be a quick process; ugh, now, not so much. Last night took a good 45 minutes, maybe more. 2.5 years old.

Usually pretty fast with both boys. My oldest will sometimes be up for a little bit tossing around but on a school night he's usually out pretty quick.

used to be so quick, now it is anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

If I hit her sweet spot which is 7:45, I can get her in the crib and her lights out by 8:00 - 8:15 if she's really hyped up. Anything later than putting her in her crib by 7:45 delays bed time exponentially, so if I end up putting her in her crib at 8:15, then she won't sleep till 9:15. it's crazy.

DS#1 about 5 minutes, sometimes longer if he is overtired.
DS#2 (after nursing) within a minute or two.
