Looks like LO has the stomach flu--threw up three times last night, once today, plus diarrhea. Fun fun fun! The pedi said it could last up to a week! If your LO has had the stomach flu, how long did it last? I thought these things ran their course in 24 hours?

We had three episodes of vomiting over 2 days, but the diarrhea on one episode lasted a week. That was rough.

DD had it last week
it was awful.
Hope L is feeling better soon.We were exposed Saturday afternoon and DH and DD were up puking around 8am Monday. DD only puked a few times and didn't have diarrhea until Tuesday. Then was mostly ok Wednesday until bedtime when she had more D.
We kept her away from our caregiver and her daughter for the rest of the week. I spent the weekend sterilizing everything and anything with germs in our apartment.
I went back to work Monday and by Wednesday our caregiver's daughter had it too.sucks.

Oh no! LO had it about 2 weeks ago and passed it on to me, then DH! Ours lasted only 24 hours, but LO's eating was a bit screwy for a week or more.

@oliviaoblivia: yikes! So it spreads pretty easily then....we are going to be around 2 other couples this wknd, I really hope they (and we) don't get sick!
@2PeasinaPod: uuugh awful. I hope 24 hours for LO too! He hasn't eaten anything other than a banana (which he threw up half of) and like 3 cheerios today

@hilsy85: The people we got it from had it a week prior. The half life on our strain is sooooo long.

DH just had it. I think from the plane either Monday or Tuesday. He was home for two hours and it started. 24 hours of vomit and then 24 of the other end. He said he still isn't 100% today.
Praying R and I don't get it since we were holed up inside with him.

@hilsy85: The only bright side of getting it last is that you're healthy while taking care of the others! I got it second which made it hell trying to take care of both LO and DH while he was going through it less than 24 hours after I had it and hadn't eaten for all that time!

Poor L
I hope it passes quickly!! All 3 of us got it around the same time a couple weeks ago. It was the worst for me and lasted a good 3 days. DH and LO recovered more quickly. LO had bad diarrhea for 2 days and really didn't eat much for about 4 or 5 days. It was tough. We just kept giving her lots of pedialite and water and holding off on milk.

C has it right now too.
So far, it's been 5 days, but it's been 24 hours since she vomited last. Fingers crossed.She had it twice last winter and it was 4-5 days each time.

We all had it a week after each other. It was about 36 hours for me and DH and then R got it and was back to normal within 24 hours. Really yucky.

oh nooooo.. DD got it once and it lasted for 2-3 days.

@hilsy85: bumping. L has a stomach bug I think. Thrown up 7 times in 2 hours. Poor thing. How long did it last for you guys?

@SleepyMonkey: ah, with us (we for sure had norovirus - it went around the preschool) but E threw up 15 times within 6 hours. It was mostly bile which was scary to see but after that, she took 2 mg of zofran and was fine as far as vomiting. 36 hours of diarrhea and about another 24 of fatigue/weakness and then she was over it. The rest of us weren't so lucky. 2-5 days of vomiting.

@HLK208: Omg. That sounds horrible! So sorry that you all had to go thru that. I am praying that dh and I don't get it too. Any tips for managing the vomit? I put a towel down in her crib and am sitting in the glider while she sleeps.

@SleepyMonkey: burp cloths! I just held her the whole time she slept which helped to contain the vomit. I hope your LO recovers quickly! Just wash your hands non-stop. Then again, I think I may have gotten it from letting her sleep on me but at least she was comfortable.

I'm so paranoid about getting it that Ive scrubbedmy hands raw. I also forced dh to take a shower before he went to bed!

@SleepyMonkey: eek oh no! It was about 48 hours for us (no vomit after 24 tho) and then a week for eating to be normal. And then I and dh got it. Every single baby in our little play group has had it on the last month so just be careful it's very contagious!!

@hilsy85: thanks! she threw up one more time this morning after drinking some water, but that was it. today, she has had gatorade, toast, cheerios and some pasta so far and has kept it down. i hope it sticks. our nanny is sick with it too...so of course i am waiting for it to start with dh and me. how long after L started getting sick did you and your dh started feeling sick? have a great time on your trip...looks fabulous so far!!

@SleepyMonkey: he threw up for the first time at like 4am Friday morning...I woke up feeling crappy Saturday, felt bad/not myself til Sunday night.for dh, he was sick tues/weds. I hope you avoid it!
