It worked on our second cycle trying, but we started using Clomid right away since I found out I wasn't ovulating before we were even ready to start TTC. I consider myself very lucky that I was referred to a RE months before we even wanted to start trying, because they took months to test us for everything under the sun before we could start!

11 cycles with charting (and was never on BCP, so didn't have to wait for my cycles to regulate).

4 months with our first BFP, but didn't stick. Then it took another 4 months when we got another BFP, but it's been sticky!!
I took OPKs ocassionally. No charting.

First try, we were in the Bahamas and decided to pull the trigger even though I wasn't supposed to be ovulating....but I guess I was!

2nd cycle. Charting, OPK and DTD every other day. With DH's busy season we only had a few birth months in mind so that he could spend time with LO before he was working insane hours.

First try. I went off BC just to get on some sort of schedule/routine/ntnp with it and bam! We were so very lucky.

Still trying. So far, approx 4.5 years. Many tests (diagnosed as Unexplained Infertility), a couple procedures/surgeries, Clomid, Femara, IUI's, Follistim and one miscarriage we're now currently in the first (and hopefully only) cycle of Shared Risk IVF.

4+ years. No intervention.
Well, actually I did went to the doctor after 1 year and did multiple tests. Removed an endometrial polyp twice. But we didn't go the IVF...etc. route.
Right when I gave up and I accepted that it is OK to be a childless woman, it happened.

It took a year and a half of charting and 2 cycles of clomid to conceive ds.
DD is a (happy) surprise! Dh and I weren't being careful, cause we thought I would have issues again...nope!

I love that this list shows so many people who took awhile. ( nit happy that it's not easy for everyone.) sometimes these threads are like 90% right away - this one seems really realistic.
It took us 20 months and IVF.
