My kids both had an *intense* love of Elmo... but it's completely faded. Even my youngest just told me that she doesn't like Elmo anymore! She's three... I thought for sure she still carried a little torch for him.
How long was the Elmo phase for your LO?

Elmo is some magnificent marketing. My LO is only 18 months old and knows his name and face just from a few books. He got an Elmo doll for Christmas so we're just entering the thick of it I think!

C is 16 months and obsessed. It's really the only thing she watches. Elmo the Musical is the best 10$ I ever spent

Cookie Monster is the favourite here, although he does like Elmo too. DS is 21 months and I don't see his love fading soon.

B is 17 months and completely obsessed. It's all she will watch. I'm already sick of it!

17 months and my LO isn't into any characters (probably because she won't sit still long enough to watch a show). Maybe we'll skip the Elmo phase by some miracle?? I find him so annoying. I don't mind Minnie/Mickey or Bubble Guppies.

17 months and we are watching Elmo on you tube right now :). She loves Elmo, we will see how long it lasts!

DS isn't really into him (yet?), he recognizes elmo and we read a few SS books at bedtime sometimes, but he's not crazy over him like he is MM

@reverie: I agree! My DD never saw Sesame Street but we had one toy singing Elmo from when my son was into him and she gravitated to him so much. She also had seen a few toys with her therapist and always loved them. She never saw any show with him she just loved him for some reason.

Never showed any daily interest. Maybe because they weren't exposed to it? I guess they aren't missing out on much since it sounds like they move on. Haha! But they do know who he is through songs.

He's just over 2 and seems over Elmo already. I dunno..maybe he'll get into it again later. He is way more interested in Mickey.
