@Mrs tartan: Before: Admitted at 10pm, delivered at 1:51pm the next day (Saturday). After: Discharged at noon on Monday (so almost 48 hours after delivery).

Admitted Sunday night (9pm), had him Monday morning (7AM), and got to come home on Wednesday. Would have been Tuesday but I needed an emergency c-section.

I had a scheduled c-section for 8am on Wednesday morning. We arrived at 6am that morning, and I was discharged around 1pm on Saturday.

I went to the hospital at 12:30pm on a Sunday and DS was born at 5:30pm. We were discharged 24 hours later (literally to the minute - we were SO ready to go home) the next day.

It's a little misleading though. I had been planning to have the baby at home (before complications) and the midwives came over at 10:30pm Saturday night which is when things got super intense. I likely would have been to the hospital at 11pm the night before having him had we been planning to have him there.

I had a scheduled c-section at 9:30am Thursday. I arrived at the hospital at 7:30am and we left Saturday afternoon.

I had a midwife attended hospital birth. Midwife came to my house around 9pm, we went to the hospital around 11 I think. Madeline was born at 5:15am and we went home 2 hours later! Yay midwives!

Admitted at 4:30am on a Monday morning, had LO at 3:00pm and was discharged around 3pm Wednesday.

Started having contractions at 4am, was in the hospital by 7:15am, had my baby by 9:58am on Thursday, was discharged Sunday morning.

With my first, admitted at 11:30 am on Thursday, LO born at 9:26 that evening, discharged Saturday morning.

With LO2, arrived at the hospital at 4:00 am, LO was born at 8:30 am, and we were on our way home by 1:00 pm. Nine hours from admission to home time, loved it!

With my 1st, admitted around 10:30pm, gave birth at 8am the next day, left 48 hours later.

With my 2nd, admitted around 1pm, gave birth at 6:45pm the same day, stayed 4 days (they don't kick you out in Austria, I could have stayed a week and no one would have said anything).

I was admitted late Wednesday night with pre-e and HELLP syndrome. They monitored me for a few days but things started to get worse on Saturday morning and I was induced (36 w 0d) and Saturday evening. We both needed a little extra monitoring after delivery but baby and I were both discharged on Tuesday evening. Almost a full week! It didn't really feel that long because there was so much going on.

I was at the hospital about 2.5 hours before LO was born.

At hospital for about 36 hours after she was born.

Arrived at 6pm, LO was born at 2:26 am, discharged at 2:00pm the same day.

I arrived at 6:15 am, had LO at 11:30 pm, was discharged by 11:30 am the following day. So, 17 hrs before LO was born, 12 hrs after LO was born.

Admitted 2 days before his birth and discharged 4 days after his birth.

Before: admitted at 7am, DS born at 6:45pm
After: went home the next morning (11am or so)

@HLK208: I don't remember how long your labors were....Did you stay two nights after B and E were born?

Both times I was admitted around 4 pm and had babies out at 9:48 pm and 9:49 pm (uncanny!)

With #1 I was discharged very late two days later, but hung around in the nesting room due to NICU time for another day and a half.

With #2 I was discharged mid-morning two days later. I would have been fine leaving a day earlier, but they won't release the baby until they had completed all of the bloodwork. With our #1 having jaundice and nursing issues, I was happy to make sure #2 checked out ok and have lots of quiet snuggle time.

@HLK208: Interesting! Is that policy? At SJs (where I delivered) they send you home 24 hours after the birth!
