We have like....5. But I've been taking T to the library lately and getting some children's books to read. We've had some good ones that I want to buy for him...but they're $10+. I would love to have a bookshelf full of books but I think we'll stick with free library books for now. Haha

We have a lot! My sister works in the children's section of the library and she is always snagging books for us at the library sale.

We have around 30 but really only rotate through 10 or so. They were mostly gifts and he has started to chew on the board books, so I'm glad we own them. But when he's old enough to not rip or damage real books, we'll be all about the library.

Tons! Only about 10 of them were bought by us new, the rest gifted or from the thrift store. We probably have around 200-250, we just cleared some out and need to clear more out!

A lot! 50+ .... But I used to be a teacher and I compulsively buy books when I see them for cheap at Marshalls...
I want to do library books with LO to give her more variety (I myself get all my books from the library) but she's so rough with them I fear they would get damaged!

75+? I'm a big reader, so at my baby shower everyone gave us a book to help stock the library. I also stocked the shelves before LO arrived with my favorites! I also follow baby/kid swap sites and will snag used books on those sites!

Probably about 40 or 50? They were mostly gifted. Our nanny is taking the baby to the library for the first time today. I gave her the info so hopefully they will give him a library card even though I'm not there.

It's ridiculous. We have over 100. We were gifted a TON and I get a lot used at book sales and goodwill. We have books everywhere. And multiples of the same book. I swear we have 4 copies of Goodnight Moon. So, we have a copy in her room, in the play room, in the living room and in our room...

@LuLu Mom: We did that too, but we live in the Bible Belt and 95% of the books we got are baby bibles, bible story books, or prayer books. That's a nice gesture and greatly appreciated but we did not need that many. Haha

Hundreds. I was gifted 25+ at my shower, have many from my childhood, have received tons more, and buy them often. We have a local book exchange store, which is awesome, because you return books for credit, and then can buy other books with that credit. It only works for used books, but even their new books are super cheap ($2-3), so we get a ton there. It's like a library where you can actually keep the books you love!

We have tons (100+). N loves to books!! His little face lights up when we sit down to read. His favorite store at the mall is the book store. Our library is pretty awful here so we buy books regularly. We also are gifted books from family and friends because they know how much reading means to our family. N has got some great books recently. His current favorite is: Tacky the Penguin. We bought our own copy after a few day stay with FIL because N was sad to leave it. FIL used to read it to DH when he was small, so it is cool to see it getting enjoyment from another generation.

A lot! My mom is always buying him books. I also have a ton for when he gets a bit older (both his parents and his aunt are teachers so...)

We have so many! We don't own a TV so we do a lot of books. I have book hoarding tendencies... I just love them so much. They're like old friends.
My love of books is something I dearly hope to pass on to LO.

Well, I thought we had a million, but I doubt we actually have 100. We go to the library weekly though, so she's always seeing new books, along with her faves at home.

We have a ton - probably over 250. It is kind of ridiculous how many kids books we have. My husband buys them at garage sales. If we don't like them, then it is no big deal to donate them. We never buy books full price. If we really like a book we get at the library, then we buy it used on Amazon for .01 + 3.99 shipping. I don't even buy new books for gifts, just buy Like New books on Amazon. My husband grew up in the country with no one to play with, so books were one of his main activities. He really wants our kids to love them as much as he does.

We have about 40, I bought most of them at 2nd & Charles, an AMAZING used book store, and some were gifts or free from her pediatrician. We also go to the library every week and get out 3-5 books each time. We love books! Been reading to her every day since she was a newborn

I was going to say a lot but reading other people reply... I guess we just have a fair amount. I'm just guessing but maybe a little over 100.
We always request books when people ask what to gift LO. Also discount stores like Marshals, Burlington coat factory, TJ Maxx and so on have a ton of kids books for cheap... sometimes the quality is rough but there are a lot of good condition books too. For the first year I always bought the books on flash sales online too.
My love of books is something I dearly hope to pass on to LO.
