I had way too many for one LO but i wont be buying any new diapers for the new baby...I'm afraid to count! I think my ideal number would be 36 for one baby.

We also have 26 BG 4.0s! I was aiming for 24, but then we received 2 more as a gift.

With that number, I can do diaper laundry every 2-3 days, no problem. Even when LO was younger and going through more diapers, washing them every 2 days was fine, I wouldn't want to leave them much longer than that anyway.

We have 24 aios and pockets, plus 11 covers, 4 fitteds, and a couple dozen prefolds. (I also have 7 newborn sized AIOs.) It's more than enough for us. I do laundry every other day, and I barely use the prefolds -- besides, of course, as great burp cloths!

I have 30.... I always thought that was a lot. But it gives me some extra time to get the laundry done if I have a migraine, so it's good for me.

10 Flip covers with about 18 prefolds and 5 bigger prefolds for overnight.

For twins, we have 15 bum genius 4.0s for nights and outings, and 4 flip daypacks (8 covers and 24 inserts) for home. Plus 8 hemp inserts for nights.

Its enough that I can go 2 days without washing when we travel, but I wash everu morning at home.

We've got 12 nb fitteds (that he's about to grow out of at 2.5 mo), 3 wool covers and 3 PUL covers. Ideally, we'll switch to prefolds here soon--we have a few dozen of those. But they just don't hold the EBF poop in very well. I'd really like to get bigger fitteds, but I don't think husband will let me. Wah wah.

No baby yet but the goal is 24 BG NB dipes and then 36 BG Freetimes. My hubby does the laundry and I'd like to be able to do them just 2 a week. Also we camp Friday - Sunday most spring/summer weekends and so I want enough to not have to wash them out there.

We have 24 BG AIO (18 Freetime and 6 Elemental). We started with 18 by my MIL bought us the extra 6. When he was a newborn I was washing them every day (with 18) and with 24 I was washing every day and a half or so. But my LO peed ALL THE TIME and could not stand to feel even a little bit wet (even with the wick-away disposables, he could still tell and it pissed him off).

He's 8 months now and I wash them every 2-3 days.

24 is great for us, 30 probably would have been better, especially at the beginning, but not enough that I felt the need to buy more.

Much cheaper! We're doing the 36 stash option for $80. It's only 8 weeks but you can lengthen 4 extra weeks for I think $40?

24! I do cd laundry every 3 days.

@grizz: Nope, I'm not local! The woman who runs it is awesome, she's answered all my questions about washing/drying/shipping etc really promptly. And they are NEW! If you want to use their used rental, it's even cheaper.

5 Fleece covers (I highly recommend fleece covers for night time, amazing)

Hybrid fitted diapers:
5 different WAHM "brands" (Urban bums, CJ's Fluff, Hipster Fluff, Snug bugs, and Lucky Little C's)

I really like WAHM diapers now, and I am going to build a newborn stash for our next baby of pretty much all WAHM diapers!
