With DD, I went home the next evening (26 hours after giving birth) and even though I was physically fine, I did not feel fine (swollen and painful vajay, tired, scared, etc.).
With baby2, I'm with a midwive and they encourage their patients to go home as soon as possible (as long as there are no health concerns) to recover and rest in the comfort of one's own home but the thought of going home just hours of giving birth freaks me out!

It was about 60 hours for me. Gave birth at 2:06 a.m. on Tuesday, and went home in the afternoon on Thursday. I liked this timing because I really felt SAFE in the hospital and didn't feel READY to be on our own for the first couple days.

For S...12 hours. I was outta there.
For DS I stayed 2 nights, but he was in the NICU, so I prolonged my stay as long as my insurance would allow me to.

I had her at 2:34pm on Monday and we left Wednesday around 11:30. Would have left sooner but our car battery had died so DH had to wait on security to jump the car.

I got to hospital at 11p on Friday had DH at 2am Saturday, started until Monday afternoon but we could have stayed until midnight Monday if we wanted. It was about 60 hours.

7 days... I had a c section. The standard stay for a c section in tokyo is 7 days. By day 3, I just wanted to go home.

I was in the hospital for two days but felt much longer. Hoping that I can be released sooner this time because I hated being around nurses. They weren't very helpful and more of a bother.

i went to the hospital on a thursday morning, gave birth at 8pm, and left on saturday around noon. we could have left a little earlier that morning but took our time.

I got to the hospital at 11:30pm on Sunday night, had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery at 9:46am on Monday morning and then went home around 10am on Wednesday morning. So right at 48hours after birth. I enjoyed being the hospital those two nights so I had the nurses to help me and guide me when I had questions/fears. But by Wednesday morning we were ready to be home.

I was with a midwife and had hoped to go home as soon after birth as possible.....then I had a c-section. DD was born shortly after 5 a.m. on Wednesday and I went home shortly after noon on Friday. I was SO happy to get out of there!

Gave birth at 11:43 Sunday left at 2 pm Wednesday. Stayed an extra night because I had to have a blood transfusion and was recovering from a third degree tear.

Within about 24 hours after giving birth. Hospital wanted us there longer (for no real reason, baby and I were both fine). We asked when we could be discharged and the nurse said "Why?"
I wanted to get home and get some rest!

Gave birth at 11 pm on Monday, was discharged 6 pm on Friday. We opted to stay an additional day (I had a c-section so was required to stay 3) and stayed 4 due to LO being in the NICU. By that time the nurses pretty much left us alone and we used it as a hotel room more than anything.

I had my c-section on Wednesday afternoon (though was admitted at 3am that morning) and went home Saturday late morning. I felt like I needed that time as LO was in the NICU until Friday.

@Espion: Exactly the same for me - induction to c-section, except I had to stay until Sunday because of a stupid rash on my belly. Tuesday to Sunday. I was SO READY to go home.

Got to hospital Thursday morning, didn't go home until Monday afternoon. So, about 4 and a half days. Had an unexpected c section and baby bookworm had jaundice, or we probably would have left on Sunday. I was so, so ready to get home by the end!!

checked in at 5pm tues, had baby at 12:44 on wed, checked out by 3pm thurs.
it was thanksgiving and i wanted to be home, eating a homecooked meal. next time, i will be staying two days.

I had LO at 9:47 am on Wednesday and left Thuesday afternoon. The nurses were so surprised that I wanted to leave, they all thought I'd be staying through Friday. There was no need, but I did leave the hospital in my pjs instead of putting on clothes (yoga pants) since I was so tired. The nurses were more annoying than helpful, so I wanted to get out of there and be in my own home.

I gave birth at 11:36am on a Monday and we were released around 4pm on Wed.
Baby did have some complications though. I was offered discharge 24hrs post birth but I wasn't leaving the hospital without her so we stayed the extra night so we could all leave together.
total was about 53hrs.

24 hours. We stayed overnight. In hindsight, i should have stayed another night (encouraged by my OB) but i just wanted to go home. I ended up back at the hospital 1 day later because of her jaundice.

i stayed 4 nights 5 days with charlie because i had a c-section. with olive i was discharged after 48 hours, but she had to stay in the hospital an extra 5 days so i stayed at a nearby hotel.

I delivered at 9 AM on a Tuesday...and checked Thursday mid-morning.
I had to be monitored for 12 hours after birth because of my massive blood loss, so I didn't even get moved to my post-partum room until late Tuesday night. Then we stayed Tuesday night and Wednesday night in the post partum room.
