@chopsuey119: I am part French (French, German, Irish, Cherokee), but I have only visited France (I lived in England for a few years).

I have a good command of French and Spanish.

English, Mandarin and Taiwanese. Written as well, my Chinese writing has vastly improved since my mom got a smartphone!

Just English.
Almost conversational Spanish but not quite there.
I know quite a few words/phrases in Korean and Japanese. If I had one wish I believe I would wish to be able to speak/read/understand every language in the world. Languages are so cool.

2 fluently (English and French). Conversational in American Sogn Languge

English and French, conversational Italian, basic German and a little bit of Russian.

I speak some Spanish. I tend to have a lot of Spanish speaking ESL students in my pre-k classes. Last year, 9 of my 18 kids spoke primarily Spanish and 5 sets of parents spoke no English at all.
My kids have taught me more than I learned in my Spanish classes in college.

Only English fluently.
I was probably conversational in Japanese at one point, but have forgotten too much to really claim that now. I can definitely understand much more than I can think of to say.
My husband's family is all fluent in French, so I try to learn that so I can make sure they're not talking about me.... JK.

One and a half. English and I can understand & read French, and speak it if pressed.
Unless you count babbling as a language. That I'm proficient in.

English, and some Russian. I took 6 years of French in grade school and came out pretty conversant. Then I never thought about it again and lost it - bah youth! So sad.

English. could maybe carry out a basic conversation in NZ sign, if they were signing slowly, and very patient

English and conversational Tagalog (Filipino), but my vocabulary is limited; I can't understand most complicated words they use in the news, for instance. I read better than I can write Tagalog, which always requires Google translate.
I'm picking up on Swedish, but I still have a long way to go and completely lost any Spanish I learned in school. I picked up a little Korean from when I used to live there and know a few words and expressions. I can sound out written Korean, but not actually know what most of it means.

English is what I am most comfortable speaking. Although I do sign pretty well (American Sign Language). My father and Dh speak German fluently, I understand it but my speaking skills are lacking.

@Danizaur: I wish I was fluent in more languages too!
I've been working on Spanish haphazardly for a long time. It would be so useful in my job! I also wish I could learn Yup'ik, but it is supposed to be an exceptionally hard language to learn.

@chopsuey119: haha, sometimes I'm not sure if it should count since it sounds so close to Cantonese to me. But since HK friends dont understand it, and I have some Toisanese friends who don't understand Cantonese, I guess it's different enough.

English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. I understand, but speak very little Hokkien, I can do conversational Spanish, but read better than I can speak it.
@Yin: @Autumnlove: Same here with my Canto since I don't live near family any more so my Canto is a little rough. I actually have to think about what I'm saying before I say it. Ha!

English and Spanish fluently. I can understand Portuguese pretty well, but can't speak it (or read or write).
Eta: I also know some very (very) basic phrases in Quechua from when I lived in a small Andean village.
