I speak Cantonese, and DH speaks Vietnamese. Neither one of us can speak our languages fluently enough to be able to teach our kids. I was hoping that our kids would learn it from their grandparents, but that's not the case.

I speak English, Korean, and am proficient in Spanish.
DH speaks English, and is better than proficient in Spanish, and says a handful of things in korean We are hoping DS speaks English/Korean (and Spanish later in schooling years)

Just English. I have a minor in Spanish and my husband took years of French, so we can at least order food/drink and say thank you when we're out of the country...

I only speak English, but my husband speaks English and Mandarin. I would love for him to teach it to our kids (and me too!). He doesn't think he knows it well enough, but he manages to carry on entire conversations with his parents, so I'd say he does!

We both only speak English. I can speak Spanish well enough to communicate when we're out of the country, but I wouldn't count it as a second language. I almost completed a Minor in Conversational Spanish, but my Major was taking too long

Hubs speaks good old 'Merican and I speak English and Vietnamese.

Me: Cantonese and Mandarin and English, limited Fujian and Khmer, and I took quite a few years of Spanish, but would need to brush up on it.

DH: English and Khmer.

I'm hoping DS will pick up Canto and Mandarin. I speak to him mainly in Canto, but will send him to Mandarin school/daycare when he's a bit older.

I speak English and some French. I'm trying to get better at French so I can speak it to future LOs. DH speaks English.

We both speak English and French and speak French at home. DH also speaks some German. Our LOs are bilingual and our son is learning German at preschool.

I speak English, and at one point was pretty conversant in Swahili, although it's really gone downhill in the past few years, as there aren't a lot of opportunities to practice!

The Mr is a high school French teacher, and he speaks Vietnamese with his family. He swears his Vietnamese is really bad, but I always think he know way more than he lets on!

Just English for both of us. I took Spanish in high school and wish I'd kept up with it! It would be handy to be bilingual!

Just english and its something i really regret. Spanish would be really helpful living in new york. But we are going to try to learn korean in preparation for our adoption.
