Now that DD is about to turn 1, they are moving her to a new room. I'm excited because in that room, they'll be doing arts and crafts and going to chapel. The problem is, they only get one nap. DD is already a bad napper at daycare and she really needs 2, 1.5-2 hour naps each day. I'm worried that she's not ready to move up for that reason.
How many naps did your LO have at 1 yr?

Two, but he was starting to fight the afternoon nap at that age. We would wake him up from the morning nap after 45-1 hour to preserve the afternoon nap. Switched to one nap fully at 15 months.

Two. One is young to switch to one nap. Charlie switched at 15 1/2 months to one nap.

At one my LO took two naps. He dropped the second nap at around 15 months.

@BabyBoecksMom: My LO recently moved up to the toddler room at one y.o. and they have a similar schedule. However, she was only taking 1-2 30-45 minute naps a day in the infant room. I was super worried that she wouldn't nap in the new room and the whole thing would be a trainwreck...but it has worked out great! She has done well with the longer nap and is now taking one longer nap for us at home too!
It sounds like your LO has a higher sleep need than mine but hopefully she will be able to make the adjustment too!

DS was down to one nap by the time he was a year old. I think he cut down to one nap when he was about 10 months old or so.

We're going to have this problem in a couple of months too. DD will probably do fine at daycare with only one nap, since she hates napping, but she can't really make it all the way to bedtime with only one nap. It's going to be interesting...

Thanks for the responses. I didn't feel comfortable moving her up, so today I told the director I wanted to keep her in her current room. She looked a little stunned - oh well. I feel so much better today knowing she's going to get the sleep she needs.
