One day I realized that the more underwear I owned, the longer I could go without having to wash laundry. After that, it was off to the races! I own a lot of underwear.
You?

A whole separate drawerful. Although I do laundry weekly, I could go over a month or more without needing to wash a pair. As a result I still have several pairs that have never been wore even once!

@mrbee: I find that your stratement rings true to many of my guy friends. Thankfully, DH and I are on a weekly laundry schedule (that I mostly maintain) and he always has clean underwear.
As for my own collection - I worked at Victoria's Secret during college one summer and developed an addiction. I have a full drawer of underwear, too many to count, and some that I have yet to take the tag off of!

@mrsjyw: How does an underwear addiction work? I am curious.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@mrbee: pretty much spent every single paycheck that summer spending what i earned at the store! we figured out how to dig for the good stuff during semi-annual sales and so every 6 months i do a victoria's secret run to add to my stash! (you can never have enough underwear, no?) LOL i throw out a lot and replenish though, so i don't turn into a packrat with VS underwear!

@mrsjyw: Wow, so you worked at a store to earn money so that you could spend it at the store? You sound like a truly dedicated employee!!

@mrbee: stupid, college job... thank God it was during the summer when I lived at home and didn't have bills or rent to pay!

Lots. Even though I don't need them, I'm doing laundry constantly.

DH has more underwear than I do! He cleaned out his locker at work before Christmas and brought home seven pairs!!!! (DH is in the military so keeps spare clothes and sports gear at work for PT). I own about seven g strings / thongs and four or five pairs of "sensible" undies (also referred to as granny panties by DH!)
I actually need to do a re-stock but underwear is surprisingly expensive in New Zealand!

Well, I have a strict underwear must match bras rule, so I have 2 pairs of underwear for every bra. Unfortunately, due to pregnancy, I have had to move into new bras, so I am down to about a weeks worth, all my other pairs are packed up (the bras and underwear took up an entire under bed storage box - so that is my normal stash!)

My husband and I both have our own drawer full each....probably enough to go a month without laundry. But I've been decluttering and the underwear drawers are next on my list.

@mrbee: I just feel a lot better with pretty matching underwear and bras (it is an expensive habit, especially since I only fit into specialty bras). It feels wrong when I am not wearing matching sets!

@MsMini: I suspect this is one of those things that I will never understand. It's a long list.

LOTS! I can probably go three weeks without washing a pair. But I do have favourites and ones that I would rather do laundry than to wear.

I actually only have about 15 or so pairs. I probably could use more but I have a really hard time finding the right underwear.

An embarrassing amount. My husband always laughs because I buy whole collections at a time from VS and they don't all fit in my drawer anymore. I don't know why I have such a huge stash, but I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that I would change my underwear every time I went to the bathroom if it wouldn't be such a bother to carry 20 pairs of panties around with me all the time. I just love having new underwear on. It makes everything right with the world.

Well, apparently not enough because I need to do some laundry tonight. I'm sporting "I think I've had these since college, but at least they're clean" underwear this morning

DH and I EACH have a drawer full! More than I want to count OR know! Haha

Tons. In my single days, I did laundry 1x/month, so I loaded up

Haha, I have like... four.
I REALLY need to buy some, I somehow lost a bunch in the last move.

SO many. I don't fold, I lay them flat and just stack. If they won't fit in the drawer, I force myself to get rid of some. But the high quantity definitely arrived in college when we definitely ran to VS instead of doing laundry

@mrbee: If you had an understanding of the need for matching bras and panties I would worry about you.

@bree72: I'm so with you on this one! Putting on a fresh clean pair of undies really does make things much better.
I could probably go about three weeks without running out but I have favorite pairs and we always do laundry once a week anyway so I have like 10 pairs that I really like and wear most frequently.
Hubs has waaaaay more pairs. I buy him new ones and I try to get him to throw out his old ones but he won't do it. He's like an underwear hoarder. Although he also has hoarding tendencies in the rest of his life too... so I'm not surprised.

@mrbee: because you don't like to change your underwear daily?
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@chopsuey119: Because I don't understand why girls do most of what they do.

right now, since my butt has grown with pregnancy, I have 7. that way I can do laundry once a week & be gtg. pre-pregnancy I had a whole drawer full. I'm not sure how many, though. but I've put all pre pregnancy everything in the attic for now & am going to be doing some serious purging when we bring all that back down, so who knows how many I will end up with.

I do a big clean out of socks and underwear at least twice a year. I recently tossed a large portion of my underwear drawer, including the big granny panties I wore while pregnant. If I would estimate, I'd guess I have about 12 pairs in regular rotation.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
I keep saying I need to buy more so I can do less laundry! I have enough to last me about 2 weeks, so like 14 pairs that I actually want to wear? Then I have like 10 pairs that I got at my bachelorette party that are not, um, regular underwear. I know if those are my only options that I need to do laundry - they're not comfortable for sitting at a desk all day!

A drawer full. When I find a pair of underwear I like, I buy all the pairs the store owns. Then I am of the opinion that no store will ever have a pair that I love as much as those ones and will keep them until they are... not even a little bit nice anymore. I JUST did a purge because DH made me because so many of some of my "favorites" had lots of holes. However, that made me go out and find my next favorite kind of underwear so now I have another huge stash!

HUNDREDS OF PAIRS!
People might think I am crazy, but I only do laundry about 4 times a year.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
I have about 60 to 70 pairs. All together my husband probably has about 30+ pairs. Although, he has outgrown them recently. So it's probably about 10-15 pairs of his current collection.
