Following. I can't wear a thong all day (not comfortable!). I've been wearing Aerie's boyfriends but they're not perfect. A little ride up and some vpl sometimes.

I wear icon (now speax?) underpants because of my pelvic floor damage. But I have heard good things about Soma Intimates underpants for this purpose.

@hitchhiker: YES, this is something that women willingly participate in and buy into and it's our prerogative to change it. see also: women demurring about telling people their age, and pretending we don't dye our hair. I work in fashion, am quite vain and style is very important to me, but I think this is idea that VPL is such a gauche thing is anti-feminist and needs to go.

@meadow: so, you will probably gawk at this, but my new jam is Calvin Klein MEN'S boxer briefs. The fit is super snug, they never budge and they are SO comfortable, I love them. Even though I do believe that VPL as a concept can fuck off, I hear you and these fit the bill for pretty much anything clingy like skirts or trousers. If you're wearing leggings they might show around the thigh a bit depending on how they fit you; mine don't really. Call me crazy but I love them.

@graceandjoy: if it's the line I'm thinking of, they have a weird rubbery edging on them that is kind of polarizing--it bothered me when I tried it once. But my regular panties are from soma and hold up pretty well, I like the brand a lot.

@hitchhiker: yep. I never understand why people care if you can see your underwear line. Especially in pants or leggings. The majority of people wear underwear so why are we trying to keep it a secret/ pretend we aren’t wearing it?!

I like the soma ones noted above. As I get older I’m going for comfort more than anything else. I like these. They also have some that are a little tighter in the belly area. Not like spanx but suck you in a tiny bit.

Commando.

I would have screamed years ago if you'd said I'd go commando ... But I've evolved! I've worn boy shorts, string bikinis, thongs and now I usually go commando. I remember being in my aunts wedding when I was a teen and one of the bridesmaids was always commando (my other aunt made the dresses so.we had multiple fittings together) anyway I thought no way back then...
But 20+ yrs later and I now get it!!!
