Hi, I'm not sure if this is in the correct section. lol
I would only like to have 3 registries: a local cloth diaper store, a local boutique (which will have his bedding), and BBB. About half guests are local and half are from out of town. None of those stores are available in the area with the out of town guests. I would have to add either BRU, Walmart, or Target. This would make me have 4 registries. I think it's too many. What do you think?

I'd check out Baby List. Honestly I think 4 is a bit much- even for a wedding. Could you ask your close family (MIL or Mom or siblings) to cover your cloth diapers without registering? Or buy your own bedding?

I think four is a lot. Are most of the out of town guests tech savvy? Can they use the BBB website?
We only had one registry - Amazon.

@youboots: I'm planning to buy my own bedding. Only registered to use the completion discount. So I guess I don't have to tell people about that registry.
@catgirl: The guests who are tech savvy are local and wouldn't have an issue going to the stores that we prefer. It's mostly older relatives who would have an issue.

@FancyGem: honestly, I worried about this but all the people who I was thinking about just bought stuff off of the registry. They all bought clothes actually. So unless you know these people really depend on registries, I wouldn't worry too much!

I used Babylist and had a secret one on Amazon for the completion discount. We didn't have a shower, for those that asked for our registry details- more friends than family stuck to it.

I only had 1 at Buy Buy Baby. People mostly bought off the registry for the shower or made handmade gifts or gave clothing. 4 seems like a lot to me, but it doesn't really matter. People will buy what they want. I wouldn't stress.

I did Target and BBB. There isn't a bbb where I live so I just did it online. I didn't know about babylist when I had my two, if I had, I would have done that.

I think I had BBB as my main registry and a few odd items at BRU. (Also private registries at Target and Amazon for the discounts, but those weren't visible to my friends and family.) But fair warning: most people opted to buy stuff from BRU even if I had registered for the item at BBB b/c it wasn't as conveniently located for them. So if you're particular about what you want, having a registry option local to out of town guests will probably pay off. 3-4 public registries does sound like a lot, so I agree with whoever suggested using a universal registry instead (Babylist, Amazon, Target).

Ha I was a weirdo and only had one on Amazon and I didn't tell anyone about it unless they asked. I basically used it for the completion discount. I didn't want a shower. It really helped contain the amount of crap we received (and it kept me in check, too. I didn't buy ridiculous stuff we didn't need). I took more of a "buy it as you need it" approach.

We only had one: Amazon. If I were in your shoes I would swap out BBB for something more available to your out of town guests.

I think four is a lot. We had two (Target and BBB).
Like someone else mentioned above, I'd check out Babylist. I think you can add items from multiple stores to one registry.

I would do a BRU or Target (depends on the target- some don't have very much so I lean towards BRU). And then don't tell them about the bedding one. I did some I didn't tell people about just to get the discount for myself because I knew no one would probably buy off of it as most people shop in store right before the shower. I like BBB but there are none where any of my guests lived so I just did BRU and Amazon (and land of nod for myself).

4 is a bit much to me; I feel like if you add BBB/Target registries, your local family/friends may still go that route so they can order online and not have to go to a store.
For older people, if they're not tech savvy, they'll just buy what they want to buy....
I technically had like 3 registries but 2 were just for me to get the completion discounts so no one knew.
My sister hosted and she put in a note that guests can feel free to get the same item from another source and just to let her know so she could mark it as purchased on the main registry. I had a small shower and everyone's tech savvy so it worked out well.
