I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. DH has 1 sister. I always saw myself having 3 kids. We have 2, and while I would never regret not having any more, I feel like our little family isn't quite complete yet. DH however, is deadset that we are two and through. I liked having more than one sibling.

I'm 1 of 4 and DH is 1 of 8. We both really like the idea of a large family, but realistically I think we will be done at 2 or 3 and maaayyybbbeee think about adopting/fostering when the kids are older. We will see how we feel when this second one gets here

I'm one of five and DH is one of four. I loved having a big family and always wanted that for my kids. We're thinking 3-4 will be right for our family now that we have 2.

I'm an only child that happens to have three siblings. I'm my mother's only child and she was my primary after my oarents split at age 2. When I was 8 my Dad had my brother with wife #2. Then when I was 20 my Dad married my current step-mom who brought a step-brother that's my age and a step-sister who's between me and my half-brother.
I consider myself an only child because I didn't grow up with my steps, and my half-bro is so much younger and I only saw him on weekends. But I love my siblings!
I do think being an only child is part of why I only want to have one kid. I had a great childhood and had many perks from being an only child. But ultimately, I think I'll be happier and a better mother with just one. I guess we'll see how things go with this one (I'm 23 weeks) but the plan is just the one.

I was raised with two of my siblings (and we have a half brother). My husband has three siblings. I always felt like I was taking care of my siblings and my husband felt like someone was always bugging him and like life was chaotic.
I never liked the idea of an older child caring for younger siblings and neither of us deals well with chaos and noise. Family get together can be very trying for both of us.
So we're one and done

I have 2, younger sister and a brother. I've always wanted 3 kids...just seemed like the perfect balance growing up.

1 sister, and 5 step-siblings, but I never lived with my steppies full-time. I always wanted 2 kids, because I loved it being just my sister and me.

No full sibs. 3 half sisters. 2 step. 2 half brothers. 3 step. That's for me. My SO has a late brother, a half sister and one full sister. I want 3. He is content with our 2.
