I'm not exactly sure, so maybe other posters will weigh in, but I think you can safely start using the umbrella strollers when your baby can sit up well (around 6 months or so). The Cruz is out; we just saw it the other day while we were out shopping. I, of course, drooled over it, but for what we need I still would have gone with the Vista. The Cruz reminded me of both the Bugaboo Bee and the Baby Jogger City Mini -- lighter overall, smaller wheels and easy fold, but without the flimsier frame that many umbrellas seem to have. I would have considered a Cruz if I lived somewhere where I was doing a lot of walking indoors or on smooth sidewalks. But I also would have considered the Cruz in addition to, rather than in place of, an umbrella stroller. I think the Cruz is still too heavy and too expensive to be used on trips.

We have Liv in the umbrella stroller now. Started at about 3 months. But she had excellent head control, and the G Luxe reclines so we had it reclined some

My baby is due next month and we have two strollers...the Chicco Cortina and the Chicco Keyfit Caddy. I hope they work out!
