@jedeve: it was awful. We lost out on a few by just a couple thousand dollars. We bid $140k over ask for our house and beat out the #2 bidder by $1500. The market here is so crazy. It took three years to buy (partially because I'm picky) but mainly because it's so expensive.

We were a little crazy and only looked at ours once. But the market was pretty hot over the summer and we were afraid we were going to lose it. Plus we absolutely fell in love with it. If you go again, take tons of pictures of everything, and measure as much as you can.

We did a few drive-bys (ours was empty when we bought it), but then we put in an offer at our first showing. It was in the perfect location for us and we just fell in love with it.
