In your opinion, how many toys are to many?

Whatever we have now is too many I try to go through and declutter/remove ones she doesn't play with, but it just keeps growing.

same here! We keep getting toys (either hand me downs or birthday gifts). I just try to scan everyday to see what we can get rid of/donate. But IMO, the less toys there are, the more creative they have to be!

Depends. We have way too many toys for LO but the reason is because we are trying to find what he will like that is somewhat educational. Totally need to declutter!

When they can't all fit in his bedroom or play room
I know the right thing is probably less is more, but I like having a variety of things to offer. I think right now it seems like he has a lot, but he's outgrown a lot lately so I need to get rid of a bunch.

Enough that my kids can entertain themselves, but not so many that it takes more than 5 minutes to clean up a room

She has quite a bit so we will go through this summer and put them in a garage sale.

@looch: haha me too but I have to be practical I do get excited when he gets a new toy though! (Heck, sometimes more excited then he is about it!)

I'm the meanest mom ever for taking toys away on Christmas morning. She was only 17 months and didn't notice My LO won't actually play with her toys if there's too many, and by many, it could just be individual components. So, I took away the ones she doesn't touch and left the ones I want her to spend time and play with. I'd noticed a difference right away.
Too many for us is the point when she no longer plays with individual toys and ends up just throwing them around. By toys, I mean anything she considers a toy (whisks and hair brushes included).

Ugh. We have way too many, they are overflowing the toy shelf. It doesn't help that my MIL brought a SUITCASE full of toys at Christmas. I don't think we need to buy any new toys until next Christmas, and hopefully I can get rid of some before then.
