@mediagirl: Wow, that's amazing and inspirational! How long did it take you? I hope to be in the same position you are soon!
@blushink: We're doing Dave Ramsey too! $15K in under a year is INCREDIBLE! Go you. We have definitely not be "gazelles" at all... in fact, we haven't paid off debt in a while because of other obligations / general lack of dedication. It's awesome to hear your success story.
I am so curious to know what "a lot!" means to all these people who aren't naming numbers. Of course you don't have to, but I never felt like $10,000 was a TON of credit card debt until this thread. It definitely feels like a lot, but I've heard of people with SO much more...

@daniellemybelle: I did it all on my own. I told my husband, who was then just my boyfriend, that it was my debt, I wanted to do it myself. It took me just under 2 years. During that time, my husband and I also paid off a large furniture bill and paid off our bed.
You can do it. It's HARD. I gave myself just $50-$100 a month to pay with while I was doing that. That money was for clothes, eating out, drinking out, sporting events, etc. It was SOOOOOOO worth it when I paid it off!!!! I hope you get there soon! We did the DR plan, as well.

@daniellemybelle: Well we still have a long way to go. We had 48K in debt (combined) now we are down to 34 (it went back up 2k because of my husbands injuries)
We are still paying off our stuff monthly, and honestly we aren't gazelle as much as we should seeing that we are a little down on the circumstances. I have excel spreadsheets, if ever you are interested.

We have about $1100, and that's only because we just had to buy a new washing machine.
I do have student loans though.

@blushink: @daniellemybelle: We just finished Dave Ramsey too! We paid off all our credit cards, which was about $2,000? So we have no credit card debt anymore! woohoo! We didn't do too great with the gazelle intensity though. All of our extra money had been going toward cc payments because we really don't make a whole lot of money so after bills, food, all necessities we never had any $$ leftover. So now that we paid of cc debt, we haven't really "snowballed" it into our other debt - car payment and my husband's student loans, because it's nice to have that extra $100 for whatever else we need.

We have a total of 2k in credit card debit right now. We have a bank account just to pay off credit cards. It seems silly but it's just like an extra emergency fund and we don't have access to that money (no debit cards or checks) it comes directly out of DH's paycheck so it's easy to save. We will pay off 1k by July and probably pay off the other 1k on a separate credit card by September. We would pay it off sooner but with another baby on the way and unknown hospital expenses we want to keep our extra emergency fund around.

We have none as well! We use a debit card for almost everything. When we use our credit card we use it for big purchases that we've already budgeted for and pay it off the following month.
We used Dave Ramsey too to pay off DH's student loans, love the program!

None. We don't even have any credit cards. We pay everything with cash or check, the only card we have is our ATM/Debit cards.

We pay almost everything with our credit card and then pay off our balance in full monthly...
