I'm on a high deductible plan and my pregnancy is spanning from 2014-2015 so 6,000. My deductible is 3000 a year and OOP max is 3000 a year. I've had to have a million special ultrasounds because of some concerns with baby boy so I've hit my deductible before i've given birth.

$250 for the birth.

I don't know about prenatal visits....I had genetic testing, a CVS, saw an MFM, a visit to the ER for a 12 week mc, an HSG....clomid....I had great insurance, though....I didn't keep track

For LO1, we paid nothing out of pocket--I was double covered and LO was triple covered.

This time, it's quite likely we'll only be single covered, and my out of pocket will be $2500. If baby cooperates, we'll be double-covered again and it'll be nothing.

@Mae: I could probably go through my insurance website from 2012 and 2013 but counting up 18 months worth of the treatments and cost of trying to have E seems kind of....not desirable lol

With all of our trips to GI docs for lo1, we had almost hit the family OOP max before I gave birth. I think it was about $500.

I did have over $4k in bills that I had to argue with the insurance company or provider in 2014.

Less than $200 in copays ($10/appt) and $0 for l&d.

This time around I've had an ER visit, hospitalization (only semi pregnancy related), and more appointments and ultrasounds, and I'm on PPO instead of HMO so it's going to cost more. I'm due in October, though, so it's only one calendar year.

My memory is foggy but I think the labor/delivery (4 days total in hospital w/ a vaginal delivery) cost was 10-12k, my co-pay was $150 or so. The twins had a 10 day nicu stay, their hospital bill was approx 60k, co-pay was around $100. I was shocked it was so low

Eta: I also had a 2 day hospital stay prior to delivery, I don't remember getting a bill for it.

It was under $500 including two extra ultrasounds. Now we've switched to a high deductible plan so the next baby will be more expensive! My son was born in the last month before that took place so he had good timing.

Regardless of what happens, it simply is a case of what our insurance plan states. We (me, and each twin) have an individual $2500 out of pocket max - so we have a worst case scenario of $7500 for everything (hospital and provider fees). I know that I'll likely hit mine with an impending c-section but the babies may or may not, depending on if they require any NICU time. Because I've been pregnant in two benefit years, we did have to start over in January, which is a bummer.

$5 - $6K for each. I have crap insurance with a high deductible, and didn't cross plan years. Both babies were double insured, so virtually all of the bills related to me.

Sore topic right now. I know that the first day was in the mid 5 figures. Unclear whether insurance will cover ANY of it since he was not yet our child, but that's the topic of a blog post

I didn't tally up the figures exactly, but I think around 4000? And I have insurance,totally sucks how expensive it is.

I had a visit to the ER with my first which cost about $300. Then about $200-$300 for all lab work and prenatal care, and then $900 for the birth.

With my second, it was again around $200-$300 for all lab work/ultrasounds/standard visits and about $900 for the birth.

I remember thinking it was funny that both births cost the same becuase my first included pitocin, multiple epidurals by multiple doctors, IVs of I don't even know what, etc. etc. I thought my second would be way cheaper because all they did was literally catch the baby.

We only had to pay $275. $25 for prenatal care then $250 for delivery and hospital stay. But at the start of our TTC journey we paid close to $5k for infertility treatments before we switched insurance.

We have a crazy high deductible of $9000 so, yeah.....

I paid $10 total for all prenatal appointments, ultrasounds, labor, delivery, and newborn care on the hospital--yay for state employees! My insurance was billed 27,000 for labor and delivery which is insane, but NJ has some of the highest health care billing in the US.

In my old state, oop max was $7000, so if I'd straddled two years, it could have been $14,000.
