It seems to be a hyper-partisan time in the US these days, and I wondered if HBers were at all careful in discussing politics, or discussing too much or too vehemently, with family and/or colleagues?

@apis: I discuss with DH only. My coworkers are always discussing it, but they all have the same opinion, so it's pretty useless to join in with them. My family doesn't get into politics too much.

My colleagues are all like minded so we may mention something, but it's never much of a discussion because we all agree. Family on the other hand, I tread lightly... No sense burning bridges over it. Politics is a pass time (if not career) in my friend circle, so we discuss politics a lot.

I was able to discuss politics with my former co-politics often because we all lean towards the same side and agree on pretty much all the big/hot button issues.
Family, not so much. We are way more liberal than our families so we choose not to discuss certain topics with them.
